I think im addicted to not being sober, the last like month ive been under the influence of something pretty much everyday and its starting to scare me. Im not addicted to anything in particular I just find it more fun to be not sober. Im retarded I know but so far it hasn't affected me negatively at all other than some light sleep loss. What should I do, cold turkey everything for a bit and see how i feel or just keep enjoying myself.
louis ck said it best: drugs are so good they'll ruin your life.
idk you keep saying "not sober" so im assuming weed/pills? if you can smoke some ganj and still function i think you're ok but pills/alcohol tend to get out of control very fast and it's hard to pull yourself out of that shit. stopping weed is as easy as just stopping.
if you think you have a problem, you probably have a problem.

just cycle through all the drugs so you never get addicted to any of them but you're never really sober either
sobriety is a constant hell why would you ever want to be sober for anything other than a drug test
also get checked to make sure you dont have underlying issues besides your drug abuse

take a few days off every week or so
try to save things for evenings only
best thing is to put yourself in a position where 1: you want to function at your best 2: that requires being sober. I know how it is when there's nothing to do, easy to say ehh why the hell not
weed every day will take a toll after a while, so be careful. stop while it's easy

Had kinda the same issue last summer, just need to substitute drugs with other less dangerous things or activities. Anything that can distract you from wanting to not be sober is good. Going to work, playing video games, doing stuff with friends, and eating food are all good time consuming things that can keep your mind off drugs. Soon you'll be used to living life normally (sober) and you won't feel as empty just because you aren't high, drunk, tripping, etc.
There are low key counseling programs, if you have access to healthcare, that could help you get at the underlying reasons for not wanting to be sober? Especially if you're in college I know they offer free and confidential counseling programs. Quitting cold turkey, or getting addicted to something as you're cycling through won't fix any of those. But a counselor or therapist could give you access to healthier coping mechanisms. I don't know what your life situation is right now is though, or your means. In the meantime you could try limiting usage to just weed, which is a bit more healthy for your liver and kidneys than constant booze or pills?
Regardless, I really do hope you work through this in the best way for you! Life is shit but you've already taken the first step in identifying it as a problem and seeking help in your community. ^.^

I still do all the same stuff that I did before I smoked everyday like soccer cooking work etc. i just like doing them not sober more.

i'm not wrong though there are literally people who live on some form of medication (like patients with ADD) every day of their lives and it's actually made their lives better as a result
the problem with weed and long term alcohol usage is that thc causes damage to your hippocampus which impacts your learning esp if you're still growing (i.e. a teenager idk how old you are) and alcohol, well, everyone knows its damage to your liver and higher functioning. there's a study out there i can find that literally shows that significant weed users lower their iq by like five points over the years whereas non-users gain iq. however if you use it sparingly honestly we've all done some stuff and it should be fine. just do your research and make sure you take care of yourself and know what you're getting into.
to clarify sobriety is just a baseline state that gets pretty boring if you arent exercising or choking yourself while whacking off for that "natural high" so there's honestly nothing wrong with doing drugs every day unless it's to deal with a problem you think you might have. think deep and look inside to make sure it's not existentialism or depression or anxiety that's fueling your drug use. if so, make sure to get help and get the right drugs in your system that will actually fix your problems because drugs do squat to help; they just prolong seeking treatment.
otherwise it's probably fine, there are drugs out there that have little to no long term side effects like shrooms so honestly i see nothing wrong with what's going on as long as you do your research, check your drug interactions and make sure you know what you're getting into. it's a good thing that you're self aware of this, but just because you think there's a problem doesn't mean there is one--you could just be a hypochondriac. (oh wait, that is a problem. oh well.)
there i made my post more constructive

There's a big difference between proper medication for diagnosed medical issues, and getting high or drunk because you feel like it. Not all drugs are addictive and not all put you at serious risk for permanent damage, but plenty do on both, and even just their habits can be an issue in daily life. And either way, feeling like they're a problem and wanting to quit/cut back is completely valid.
Like seriously, if the dude's concerned about getting high / drinking too much, you should know that saying "yeah but how much is too much? it probably won't kill you so just do even more lmao" isn't the right response.

if you read the post that's what i'm saying--do your research and learn to gauge yourself so that you understand what kinds of damages you're getting into; i never encouraged him to take more and even told him the risks of doing too much weed. his concern is legitimate, but it could literally just be that--a concern. if he has the self-awareness then he is probably responsible enough to stop on his own.
if that's what you think you should do, trust your own judgment and do that. just don't worry too much about it, is what i'm saying. did you just want us to reaffirm what you think you need to do? okay, then lay off the drugs for a few days and see how you feel. if you were really out of control, you wouldn't be posting here anyways.

bknI still do all the same stuff that I did before I smoked everyday like soccer cooking work etc. i just like doing them not sober more.
Doing drugs as a recreational activity isn't that bad IMO but when you get to the point where you're regularly high while doing everyday stuff that you would normally do sober, it's gonna be bad. If it becomes a part of your routine it will become a lot harder to stop because humans are creatures of habit. Something I think works is making an agreement with yourself whereby you have to earn being high. Like okay I'm not gonna smoke until I've done x y and z of the things I need to do, and after that light it up. And try vary the things that you do when you're not sober cos again if you get used to doing something while you're in a certain state, you're gonna want to be like that every time you do it. Balance is the key to life.

I second the drugs are so good they'll ruin your life. Spent my 25th xfaded as fuck and on shrooms. I had a lot of great thoughts and experiences but towards the end I kept telling myself don't keep going down this rabbit hole.
Distraction the more you post the less respected you become
I knew being a sub open player for too long would lead you to drugs :(
As most of the people said already, the best advise is to stop, nothing else. I've wasted almost a year of my life when I was 20-21 almost constantly being on JWH and after some time it felt like half of my brain died. It felt good, but I started realizing that I'm literally unable to work, study and talk to people at some point. It started super nice, especially first several mounths when I tried it for the first time. And then it took me almost a year to get all the shit together after I gave up. Trust me, you don't want this. I'm clean for almost 3 years now, got married, everything is super smooth and well, thanks to my friends. I dunno what kind of stuff you are on, but please stop, its not worth it. Some people get this bad even with alcohol.
i'm still an open player, though
A lot of good stuff has been said, but i'd like to add that if you aren't ashamed/afraid of telling, let loved ones, friends, etc know what you are going through for help.
Also hit up with people that have gone through the same stuff for advice as well
