who looks forward to updates in 2017???

i'm continually surprised anyone in the comp scene cares about the pyro update. we play a very different form of tf2 than everyone else. no one runs pyro in 6s. pyro is the worst class in hl. all the shitty weapons are banned. valve will never inject any money into comp tf2. there. you can ignore the update now.

What led you to think it would be today of all days?

updates often drop on thursday

because of past major updates i'd expect an announcement released on a wednesday before the update releases on a thursday

i've given up on these updates

i thought it was already established that the update will come out after i61

i mean its possible they're delaying the update to release it in october as the 10th anniversary update but they're most likely just being lazy

maybe if the update gives pyro the right tools it could be a viable class in place of a scout or soldier?
in the current state of pyro that idea sounds like total aids, i'll admit, but we have no idea what the class could be like after the update. i guess we just gotta cross our fingers and hope pyro doesn't become even more retarded than it already is.

I'm looking forward to the update because most of the proposed balance changes are good and I have a teeny hope that the pyro changes will make him a bit less of an abortion of a class (read: a class worth being good at). I can't erase my pyro main past but maybe there's still a future for us.

Didn't think it'd be today at all though. I'm thinking sometime September and definitely after lan.

I've never once claimed to know when the update would come out. In fact, I publicly declared that I would not bother pointlessly predicting the release date and will wait patiently like everyone else. I'll gladly give a $1000 reward to anyone who can prove that I claimed the update would come out today.

I remember hoping it would come out before summer started so I could enjoy it over the time off :(

someone needs to tell the tf2 team that they can just release the finished stuff. it's better to release something after a year of nothing rather than to have a super big game breaking update like months later.
