I don't want to come off as defending b4nny or his behavior but lets be fucking real here.
There's no way you can honestly sit there and say negative things about how b4nny "down talks" or "trash talks" players who throw, when so many other invite players do the exact same thing on a nightly basis. I could rattle off at least 5-8 names right now of daily invite streamers who also say bad/negative things about players they view as beneath them.
Is b4nny wrong for doing it? Yes, he is wrong. You might as well call out the other invite players who act the same way. If you act like an asshole, then you act like an asshole. Why does it matter if he has 300+ viewers when it happens as opposed to the other dickheads that can barely crack 15? I'll tell you why
EGO. This whole discussion is about ego, nothing more. Just get the fuck over it, check you own ego and realize b4nny doesn't owe any of us good behavior on stream and he acts no different that most of the current high invite players. The only difference is that he shit talks people with 300+ viewers, and that person develops a bruised ego because of the viewer count. (see Kawa's post #31)

That's not true though. you can't name 5-8 who change the PERCEPTION of players to the COMMUNITY, in or out of stream, whether the community is stream viewers, or competitive players. I don't know a single player who repeatedly does that outside of b4nny. Never once did I think, you know, when habib was whining about rocket, that really made people agree with him. There is a difference between shittalk and what b4nny does.

I have "grounds" to express my opinion just the same as you do to express yours. Seems you have a fine time deciding whether you want to agree or not. Everyone else does the same. That said, I try to speak only things that I believe to be correct, and those things are informed by many years of experience and careful consideration so if someone does decide to trust what I say, they should be pretty alright. I will admit, however, there are a couple extremely rare instances where the line is blurred between what is correct and what is instead useful. But in general, I don't spread misinformation, so you can't blame me if someone misunderstands me and that is the cause of them being incorrect. At the very least I'd always encourage people to ask for clarification.
The main reason I see for these discussion not progressing is because everyone is having a conversation I have no interest in. I treat TF2 as a competitive environment, and in such an environment politeness isn't really a top concern. I don't have a horse in that race. Rather, I prioritize victory and truth. Undeniably this has proven to be a very effective method. Every time a topic sprouts up about something that has a right or wrong answer and people try to shift it into emotional outpourings I can no longer take it seriously. Either present a relevant argument or enjoy spinning in circles (though I know how much you guys like your circle jerks so this might be difficult). If you're not satisfied with that, I implore you to become the next great TF2 champion, but do so while being the nicest most polite person at all times. Once that happens I'll naturally fade into obscurity in your carebear fantasyland kingdom.

I can see your point of view, I just can't personally agree with all of it. Since when was b4nny responsible for the communities perception of a player in a pug? If that player wants to show the community who he/she is and how they play, that player should stream and get their name out there. No?
b4nny doesn't talk any differently than the others. It's the same words, the same context and the same meaning. Using your example, Habib talking about rocket is perceived as not mattering much cause Habib has low view counts and is not the figurehead of the community. Are you saying b4nny should hold himself to a higher standard because of more viewers? If he wants to do that, awesome. I just don't see where he would be required to do that.

I don't know why you guys are all blowing this up way out of proportion. B4nny is arguably the face of TF2 but you guys don't need to get so upset about what he says. Just take it with a grain of salt and move on -- this is why some people are able to laugh when B4nny gives them feedback.
I honestly doubt that B4nny's comments are really hurting Corsa or Yight's reputations as invite players (at least within invite circles). Within the comp scene, people still respect them as players, and if I were Corsa or Yight I certainly wouldn't put much stock in the opinions of players outside of the comp scene who don't know anything about who is who anyways. So move on; you're actually making yourselves look dumb by arguing with him about it for 3 hours in a stream chat.
Another thing I'll say is that I agree with you that B4nny can have a more respectable posture when on stage, especially when representing the comp community, but I think we can do our part too by not encouraging these kinds of forum threads that trash a single individual's reputation. In the same way that B4nny is taking a single play and blowing it out of proportion, you guys are all making a mountain out of a molehill by criticizing what he does on stream. It's his stream, he can do or say whatever he wants, and people who watch can judge his character for themselves.
Let it go, guys. It's my fault we lost the pug anyways -- Habib and Sandblast had some pretty good plays that caused me to drop a few times too many.

honestly, I think b4nny just needs to find passion in something other than tf2. His self esteem is way too dependent on tf2 and it has to be really stressful to have your livelihood depend on a game you know isn't going anywhere. I don't know that much about his life outside of tf2, but I think it would really help him grow as a person if he found something else to be good at. I'd love to see b4nny spend more time exploring his other interests and see where that takes him. I know he likes writing music and that would probably be a great emotional outlet for him and it would be a great way for him to prove to himself that he's more than just a really good tf2 player.

yeah i know i get that but corsa's point was rocket genuinely believes that corsa couldnt play invite if he had 30 ping and bannys reply was like 'theyre pretty correct' about taking, what i assumed to be jokes, like the invite players are actually throwing on purpose, literally. the actual banny subs dont get that banny is joking and form their opinions on watever he says literally, and banny seems to be defending their willingness to take everything he says literally

Oh shit, it's me in a b4nny thread......
constructive criticism and being a blatant asshole are 2 very different things. Wanting to win every time, all the time is not as issue. Not realizing you are being trolled for 25 minutes and making yourself look like an idiot is an issue though.

Yes but he is literally acting like the pug is invite grand finals. From my understanding pugs are supposed to be a casual, yet competitive environment. Yes people shouldn't dick around like yight and throw at the end of the game, but b4nny shouldn't be freaking out on him with 300+ viewers even though yight might not care, someone else will be more likely to shy away from pugging because they are afraid that the best tf2 player ever will yell at them if they make a slight mistake in a pug.
