bear departs from Velocity eSports

bear has announced on Twitter that he has departed Velocity eSports and its accompanying Invite roster. This comes after another fourth-place finish in ESEA Invite Season 27, after Velocity eSports lost to SVIFT NA 2-0 in the Lower Round of 4. This comes after the departure of Pete following the conclusion of the ESEA season.

bear originally played Medic for Legalize Ranch/Six Apes, with the team winning the Rewind 2017 Open tournament and placing fourth in ESEA Invite Season 24.

In June 2017, the roster was signed by Velocity eSports. Under the Velocity eSports banner, the team has amassed two playoffs appearances in Invite, placing fourth in both runs. At Rewind II, Velocity eSports placed first in the Open Qualifier and later placed 5-6th in the Main Event.

With his departure from Velocity eSports, bear has also stated that he'll be taking a break from competitive Team Fortress 2. However, he has expressed interest on Twitter in attending further European LAN events in the future while he is studying abroad, having previously played with mix teams in the Insomnia58 and Insomnia61 Open tournaments.

bear was able to give us his thoughts regarding his departure from Velocity eSports and his inactivity going forward.

Pretty much done with TF2 for now, I’ve gotten pretty burned out recently and decided it was a good time to take a much needed break from the game. Over the years, I've had a great time meeting so many cool people at lans and it’s been awesome playing with my team and improving together. Obviously, there's no animosity or bad blood with my team for leaving, and I would totally love to continue playing with them if possible. They have lots of individual potential and if they stick together I have no doubt they will do well climbing the ranks of Invite. I’ve taken the opportunity to do a study abroad program in Amsterdam this summer which I’m super excited about, and since I’m going to be in Europe already I’m also going to try to attend the next insomnia LAN if possible, hopefully I’ll see some familiar tf2 faces there. Special shout out to Kenzie and Velocity for sponsoring us and big thanks to everyone who helped us get to Rewind II, you guys are the best <3
