The difference in the credu and pred situation is their response to it. 7 talked to credu about it, removed him from the roster, made a public apology about it and said they'll accept punishment for it. Not to mention that credu didn't directly attack someone like pred did.
While pred changed his name on steam to "nig of the nogs", put some sarcastic shit in his profile description, never apologized or anything(as far as I know), and seems to just have no remorse for his actions, and his teammates and circlejerk try to defend him and stand up for harassment.

kaidusMy thoughts on the recent events and a statement on Credu's loadout:
http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqkb1j
the pugchamp thing is really unfortunate. makes you wonder who put some of these people in charge when they are such a tight circlejerk.
i know im not the only one that gets upset when people kill pugs for no reason and waste people's time just because X people joined a minute too late, but the circlejerk is way more outspoken than the rest in there ofc

Go ahead and report them then. People here are incredibly adamant about pointing out that "oh degu and pred precedent" but meanwhile even when quotes like these do happen they don't get reported anyway. So take your stance and submit that quote.
I should note that these quotes are nearly a year old though. What degu and pred did was acted on in a very timely manner. If he's still intent on calling you slurs today, I don't see why you shouldn't submit those quotes.

Report to who? To ETF2L? For what? For something that happened over a year ago? I doubt somebody would care anyway.
Maybe that's the reason why people keep silent about things like these, they believe nobody would care. It's true to an extent, though

Did edit my post after you quoted to reference the timegap. If we are to actually continue this discussion, make a change about the scene and hammer down on comments like these where Valve cannot do it in the same way Blizzard can, then yeah. Report them to ETF2L, UGC. See if they can be warned for this behaviour. Drive out the toxicity. The loop of "People won't care, so I don't care, so people won't care" won't break otherwise.

GazThe threat of having prize money removed and players banned is the only reason this has been addressed by kaidus in the first place. If he actually means it, and it's not just damage control, he would follow up and apply the prize deduction to his team voluntarily. Se7en has pretty much done the exact same thing, so why exactly do they deserve to not receive the same punishment in terms of bans and deductions? Because they apologized for it?
At least they have the decency to apologise compared to the shitshow that other players from the bin have been displaying. Either sarcastic tweets or anything Muuki has said since this debacle, the only player i've even remotely seen show some element of compassion is Shampain but when the previous points takes up for a majority of the teams position on this issue of course they're more likely gonna be punished.
At least players from Se7en from what i've seen are actually making an effort to denounce this shit and publicly apologise for their own wrongdoing.

ETF2L StatementThe events of this week will have us relook at our rules and policies. In the past some violations of our rules regarding verbal abuse and harassment have not been followed up on thoroughly. We will question ourselves, our rules and the punishment for violations of those for the future. At the time of this post being published there are already plans to huddle up with other community websites and services in order to work out a community-wide report system.
This is a system for the future of the game itself, not just a temporary matter for the recent stuff. And if you're sceptical about what specifics would get you penalised, maybe change your attitude from today and just don't be enough of an asshole to get put under the radar in the first place for potential punishment.

I feel like the difference between the kaidus bug meme and dmoule SMOrc is that the bug meme was made with the intention of making fun of the player while the SMOrc thing is well just SMOrc
Ive definetly seen a fair share of animosity towards 7 for seemingly no reason for a long while now. Im pretty sure the whole thing started as a way of making fun of the Crowns i58 playstyle but 7 hasnt played like that since Crowns ceased to be, probably because they picked up players like Alle and AMS over time that play a more aggro style. Since then ive seen people make fun of 7 for literally anything they do.
Call me a 7 fanboy or a TFTV forum rat(lol) or whatever i dont care but i think my opinion was formed as a direct response to the mean spirited and vile attitude of many other members of the community.
What bothers me most is ive seen newer and younger players just accept these types of jokes at face value because the toxic players are usually the loudest which makes them seem like the majority so people try and appease them in order to fit in.
To be fair i cant really blame the newer players. In such a small community voicing an opinion that differs from what may seem like is the majority is really scary because of the fear of being made fun of. I am more criticizing the behaviour of some of the bigger figures in our small community and i do hope newer players realize they dont have to be assholes in order to fit in.

Here's an interesting piece of info from esea regarding how pro csgo players in the league are required to act.
https://play.esea.net/index.php?s=support&d=faq&id=204
It's interesting because some invite players who stream would be getting punished for this shit since they break these guidelines all the damn time.

This disgrace makes me embarassed to play in ETF2L. This isn't just about prem, banning people for calling someone a gook puts the entire EU comp community in a bad light. The message this sends is that the biggest tf2 league in europe cares more about what people say than how well they play.

Way to miss the point. This is supposed to send the message that no matter how good you are, if you are an asshole that means you're not welcome.
If only people could both play well and be decent human beings.

That is a genuine tweet because I know these people and I know they don't care that much they lost money, hell when I was leading Lowpander, I couldn't pay half of them when we won some prize money. You're making assumptions everyone on that team is the same, I mean putting Mon or Krafty or someone in the same bracket as Pred is ridiculous. Mon made a post about it earlier in the thread as well, he doesn't need to apologize because he didn't do anything wrong, yet he's been retrospectively punished.
Word for what you're doing is called prejudice but without a racial or sexist or transphobic connotation, it's more just prejudice against a group of people for associating with a person who has done something unacceptable. This makes you (and by extension a lot of people) hypocrites. You won't want to see it for yourself though, but it's okay to be a hypocrite, it makes you human after all, just don't try and take a moral high ground here judging everyone from your higher position in life and dictating who deserves to be punished and who doesn't, because you don't know these people.
I get the whole apologize for your teammates message it's to save face when there is a potential backlash against you, I don't really care if 7 lose prize money or not in this situation, but sounds to me they did the whole thing as a preventative measure to avoid losing prize money which is understandable considering ETF2L admins been very inconsistent in decision making lately. I'd done the same thing in their shoes, not because I was sorry that Credu was an idiot, but I was sorry I was about to lose money because Credu was an idiot.
