My friend read through the froyokiller team post and asked me if them always winning was a bad thing. Now that ESEA tf2 is shutting down due to not enough player growth, I think hes actually kind of right: people are good enough for invite as teams or individuals but they know they arent going to beat froyo so they dont even try.
Conclusion: froyo losing will stimulate confidenence and player growth in not only the upper tier competitive tf2 scene, but competivie tf2 in general.
Best case scenario:
1. Team gets very close to beating them, showing a potential weakness
2. Players realize and try to up their game
3. Using team cohesion > skill level (to some extent) a team beats froyo
4. The scene sees that the gods are defeated and previously impossible to obtain rewards are opened up (such as a hefty lan prizepool that everyone knew subconciously or not that the american team would win but since they are beatable...)
What this requires:
For step 1: sufficient motivation. Possible massive community prizepool, or even better, valve ingame item signifying "fall of froyo" (shows valve noticing community + reward)
For step 2: motivation possibly through some breakdown of froyo playstyle or current 6s meta (@marmaloo?)
For step 3: time and not turning the loss into ONLY a meme.
This is serious enough to prevent a potential death of the game. I know the 2 year olds of the community will activate their bm. Contain yourselves.
I also have piled together a way for the community to run the game rather than the developers based loosely on the US politcal system done right. I will post in the future.

Is this some elaborate shitposting ?
Also regarding your main point, I believe that the "lack of motivation" has been refuted by a lot of Invite players, saying that they were also very motivated but the reason froyo is hard to beat is not only the fact that they are some of the best players in the world, but that they stay together for long periods of times and train consistently, whereas the rest of NA has had some issues with keeping the same team together from one season to the next. I don't blame them at all, it's a 10 year old game that is also a hobby, and obviously many of them are students/have other commitments.
Having a super team dominate a scene is not necessarily an issue, in Europe we've had Se7en winning every season for a little while too. I think the lack of consistent LANs is more of an issue for Invite, seeing how in EU people both keen up for them and often feel remotivated after them.

I think the majority of top talent leave is because why put your time and effort into a game and not get anything out of it. When you can try at a different game and try to make it somewhere. Thats why b4nny is the dumbest person, yes we all know you love the game, but for the love of god take your talent and following somewhere else like what seagull did. B4nny could be as big as seagull on twitch, and not living in tyrones basement or whatever. That is why i think the game should just die so people can move on to something bigger and better. We all know and see the end is coming, we hear the rumors of the dev team getting smaller, theres no more big updates. Game is like a old 1st gen apple iphone that keeps getting repaired because it means something to someone and its still using 2g just like this game's game engine. Its just a video game when it comes down it.
-Sorry for rant didnt mean to make it so long.
