Didn't see another thread for this, but the g403 (wired) is currently at £25 on the British amazon. It's honestly an incredible mouse and at this price is insane. Link in spoiler because it's long.

these strikes are really funny considering amazon is working really fast to automate these warehouse jobs...
but hey at least now that these people will be out of jobs they won't have to suffer through the terrible working conditions

This is a complete misunderstanding of how corporate decisionmaking works
If Amazon could have gotten away with firing all their fulfillment center workers they would’ve done so already, the only potential reasons they haven’t are a) they haven’t developed the technology to do it fully yet, b) doing so would cost too much money up front, or c) they want to be able to keep being able to use the job creation narrative to justify the massive government subsidies and 0 taxes that they have
More labor power, regulations, and potentially even breaking up companies as large as Amazon will always be a net positive, they aren’t keeping those jobs going purely out of the kindness of their heart

Late Stage Capitalism is the reason so many people are miserable nowadays. I learned this the hard way with my last job.
neo federative marx carlinism is the only way in which we can allocate this colloquial fascist new age demonastrative economy

So spending $30 on E-girl water filtered through an ass crack is okay, but when I spend $99 on headphones it's "weird"?

This is some good advice to remember. If you are working hard at a job but you aren't making enough money for the company they will often try to find a way to fire you. Remember that in any big business you are completely expendable and they only care about how much money you can bring in. If someone else can bring in more money for a lower wage and is prepared to work longer and more difficult hours, they will always choose that guy over you.

People are more upset that their 11.50/hr unskilled labor job has them working under "inhuman conditions" and how apparently 11.50/hr starting pay for an unskilled labor job with benefits is such low and terrible pay because the American lifestyle of mindless consumerism coupled with the current rent:income ratio is inherently unsustainable.

also $15 an hour for warehouse workers sounds good until you realize random small ice cream shops in seattle pay their employees $18/hr+ and they definitely aren’t trillion dollar companies

The cost of living in Seattle is also 50% higher than the national average. Paying someone 18/hr in Seattle may as well be the equivalent of paying them 15/hr anywhere else in the country outside of the other high cost of living metropolises.

"Several Whole Foods workers told how one of the Amazon-related changes is that understaffing has become the norm. Full-time workers said their hours have regularly been reduced from 40 a week to 35 to 37 in the wake of Amazon enacting a $15 minimum wage for all its employees – thus rendering any rises in pay almost non-existent."
"Amazon now produced record revenue totals in four consecutive quarters, bringing in about $12 billion in earnings in that time."
