The looming end of the decade signals the approach of the 11th Copenhagen Games, who are now ready to announce a few preliminary details for their third TF2 LAN.
Schedule and Venue
Once again, the tournament will occur in April, this time over Easter weekend from the 8th to the 11th. The venue is also likely to remain Lokomotivværkstedet in Copenhagen, although this is yet to be set in stone.
Tickets
Copenhagen can be a pricey spot, especially for accommodation, so be sure to book early! Luckily, a ticket to sleep adjacent to the venue will just cost only 50DKK (or about €7) for the entire event, while BYOC tickets will cost €80. Rental prices and details are not yet available.
Tickets are currently available for purchase here!
Prize Pool
While there remains no official confirmation on the prize pool, sources indicate that it will remain in the same vicinity of last year’s €12,000 prize-pool.
Highlander
Where this year's LAN breaks from previous years is the omission of a Highlander tournament, as revealed by KritzKast on Twitter.
Head organizer for the TF2 event Mia spoke briefly on Highlander's absence this upcoming LAN:
With the explosive growth of 6v6 Tournaments over the past two years and to fully realise Team Fortress 2 as an esport, we regretfully will not be including a Highlander component at Copenhagen Games 2020. Highlander is still a strong and beloved part of this game’s competitive experience and we will work hard to bring it back in some capacity for future events.
More details will be released as the event inches closer; c u @.
Many thanks to Mia for getting in contact with teamfortress.tv and sharing these details!
Updated to clarify the lack of a HL tournament.
