tibbyI constistantly put more time into TF2 than my peers but always remain worse. I watch my demos, play MGE despite hating it, and try my best to take criticism from my teammates. Despite all that, I feel as though I'm improving miles slower than the people around me. I dont want to shit out a cheap rationalization and say "Oh I'm just not talented like these other players" because to me that seems like a defeatist attitude that would lock me in my current position of mediocrity.

then leave them lol

@tibby @pointy Once you have a grasp on the basics learning goes from being a passive process of gaining muscle memory and turns into refining your muscle memory and really fine tuning your decisions. blindly playing grinding the game is only going to produce bad habits and ultimately make it harder for your to improve. If you would rather have someone do the work for you get a mentor otherwise pinpoint your problem areas and every time you launch tf2 work on those problem areas specifically.

after a buildup of dumb shit i recently completely cut myself off from my friend group, which is a lot less stress but eating lunch alone sucks and ive completely forgotten how to make new friends, especially as a senior in high school where it feels like im way too late to the party.

WA I-976Initiative Measure No. 976 concerns motor vehicle taxes and fees.

This measure would repeal, reduce, or remove authority to impose certain vehicle taxes and fees; limit annual motor-vehicle-license fees to $30, except voter-approved charges; and base vehicle taxes on Kelley Blue Book value. Should this measure be enacted into law?

If this was all you saw on the ballot, would you understand that the following is one of changes approving the initiative would cause?

WA I-976Any regional transit authority, such as Sound Transit, that has issued bonds financed by a motor vehicle excise tax would be required to defease, refinance, or retire the bonds early, if the bond contracts allow such action. Once the bonds have been defeased, refinanced, or retired, the authority to impose the MVET and the additional sales and use tax on rental cars would be repealed automatically. If the regional transit authority is not able to completely defease, refinance, or retire the bonds by March 31, 2020, any existing voter-approved MVETs would remain unchanged, and the maximum rate of future voter-approved MVETs would be reduced from 0.8% to 0.2%.

Cut 20 billion dollars in funding for public transit expansion WHICH THE PEOPLE VOTED FOR so that farmers in eastern washington can pay less money for car tabs lol.

literally 6 out of the 20 initiatives this guy, Tim Eyman, has introduced were declared unconstitutional by the supreme court, and kingco is going to try and overturn this initiative too

You experience the world through your mind. You are just a physical being that exists within that world. All is within us. There is no external world beyond our perceptions. There is only consciousness.

You can think that everything you see is really there; you can feel that everything you touch feels real; you can smell that something is really there. This is your personal world.

You can think that your brain is not in the process of making sense of your reality but just doing its job, and that there is something out there that is real. This is the world that we experience.

However, all of those beliefs and all of those perceptions are all merely our projections.

Our projections make sense when we see and when we hear something, but they have no basis in reality. Our perceptions are merely thoughts that are trying to be reality.

This isn't a post created in anger, but more frustration I guess.

I don't want to be forgotten. I love TF2. I have loved my time spent playing this game and all the wonderful people I have met, either in PUGs, on teams, or at LAN. I have been able to reunite with some really old friends from 2014, and I was able to make new ones. I know I have made my mark in TF2. Sometimes it doesn't feel that way though. After a long fought season I don't know if I have it in me to return. My academic performance has been suffering. For TF2 related reasons, maybe. But its more likely the toll TF2 takes on my mental health. Those 2-3 hours a day of scrims and sitting in team mumble really add up I guess. It's hard to step away from something when it's your passion but its casting a shadow over my future. My only hope is that if I don't play this next season, I am able to find a team to attend the next RGB LAN with. I'd love to have the chance to come hang out with the TF2 crew again. I guess I have this fear that simply because I never made it to advanced (mid-upper IM)/invite it would be like starting over if I stepped away and tried to return. Anyways, hopefully 1 season isn't long enough to be forgotten. If you've ever played on a team with me, against me, hung out in my stream, interacted with me in any way; Thank you. The last year has been a lot of fun.

my mouse wrist + hand has started to hurt when I play and it's pissing me off. finally when I feel like I'm improving I have pain when I'm trying to practice. I'll probably end up changing my sens to try and make it less painful but then I have to play a bunch to get used to the new sens + relearn muscle memory. it just sucks :(

check to make sure you have good posture, elbows around 90 degrees etc, dont tense or grip too hard while aiming, take hand off of mouse when dead, make sure table is proper height along with chair, make sure monitor is correct height as well.

could also try different mouse pad positions to give your arm more or less support on desk.

thanks, I'll try this for sure. my push to talk is a side button on my mouse, do you think changing that would help? (6 yrs of pressing that button will be hard to relearn tho)

this vid is unironically really good for alleviating any wrist pain and making sure you don't have any in the future.

When I first started playing melee i use to death grip the fuck out of my controller and that's super bad for your wrists, esp if you have skinny like i do. Having good form and posture when using your keyboard / controller is super important and don't be afraid to constantly readjust your setup until it feels right for you.
