@b4nny so whats all this about not having a promod then ?
Personally I think that waiting until more information comes out before pointing fingers is the right call. I really don't think that VNN is the type of person to do this kind of thing.
Scrims are off I guess, what are your plans for tonight now tftv?

Why have Valve not said anything about this yet? Wouldn't it be in their best interest to advise their players not play the game for the time being?
Also, can they even recover from this? Or can this actually spell the end of both CSGO and TF2?

Because they need to be solid on their response and not just give a half-ass response that might expose you to more risk.

I swear TF2 is the most entertaining game of all time, there is some weird shit happening every couple months lmao

Even if the RCE is real (no proof one way or the other yet, it's literally just rumors) scrims where you know every player joining the server are probably fine.

is there a POC for this supposed RCE vuln anywhere? I haven't seen any evidence that it even exists yet.
This gives b4nny so much material to make an anti-promod conspiracy you guys
can someone plz make a website that vac bans someone when you enter their steamid, may as well make it easy for us.

remember when the exact same thing happened to steam pages themselves a couple years back? I wouldn't go about risk taking right now buddy, anything is possible.

don't get me wrong I wasn't dismissing this advice, with something like this you can never be too careful. I would just appreciate any information that can be provided at this stage so that we can ascertain whether these are rumours or whether this vulnerability does exist.

I was able to screenshot a list of possible consequences to playing tf2 right now. I got this from ONSCREEN.
This leak is just going to test how securely tf2 and steam api is built, especially the item drop system.
It is also worth mentioning that the api got leaked as well and it is now possible to remotely execute code (or malware), both of these threaten your tf2 inventories so set them to private.

I'm guessing this would make developing an actual pro mod that isn't just plugins substantially easier?
I mean hey, if this ends up resulting in a Promod with cleaned up code, better performance and balance shit, then sign me the fuck up

There's alot of interesting code in there. Commander mode leftovers from the very early versions of TF2 are even in there.

tbh valve doesn't tell him much at anything really.
Do you really think a billion-dollar company would give a youtuber their business confidentiality that has the potential to ruin their finest products?
of course not, that's ridiculous.
stop blaming the person that you don't even know if they are guilty or not.
