Everytime i talk to people what this open door on snake last is called the answer i get is either "Left" or "Right" but when casting that usually doesnt make any sense, so what is the call here?

Bucket's pretty good, though "bucket's trapped" becomes much more ambiguous. I've called it big door for a while.

would calling it main work? i know it works better for entrances in the middle but it is the entrance the map naturally feeds you through according to the signs n stuff

i think if you're casting it doesnt really matter what you call it because people are watching the stream and seeing the action. so if you call it Left people will understand that youre watching from the attackers perspective and vice versa

tf2 casters don't cast from the same pov as the streamer tho

ya. they dont. but you can kinda just figure it out when theyre saying "left" or "right" because you are seeing the action unfold. its not like we're listening to the match on the radio, we're watching it on twitch.

if the caster says "froyo are taking this super aggresive through left her giving ascent absolutely no room to breathe!!!" while the camera is on Ascent Roamer going for spam rockets to get a force on the medic who is on the right from that perspective, the cast viewer just kinda goes "yeah thats where froyo is pushing". if anyone goes "LOL thats top RIGHT lmao stupid caster doesnt know his lefts and rights" then they just have 5 brain cells idk man it really isnt a big deal

After some more suggestions on twitter, i think imma go with Big Door

The last arguement isnt wrong (although there is ways for casters now to be on the producers cam) but i value consistency, and especially when it comes to non-playbyplay situation where i talk about plays after the fact, not refering to a place relative to other things not on screen anymore either seems like a good idea.
"The Roamer going behind the uber through Right to repush from there after the uber faded saved Blu Team the last hold" just conveys less relevant information than assigning a specific term to it.
And while bucket is a valid enough call, i'd prefer to just call that the bucket itself, "Bucket is trapped" shouldnt have to refer to anything but the actual Bucket-Trap and not a potential trap on the door.

never called it anything just left or right. people know what you're saying since the only way into last is shutter, drop down, lower and "left"

because it's a big door.

Only tiny, minor drawback to that is that it's actually not a door.

gully big door also isn't a door tho :)

Agreed. I never call it bucket when I'm playing and that's a very good reason not to

For casting it should get the point across however and any ambiguity with traps should be negated by the producer showing the sticky outlines with wallhacks

bro just call it top left it's not hard lmao nobody is going to call it bucket cuz thats stupid and the viewers wont know what the casters are talking about

also awful for calling in game cuz 'top left trapped' is an important call to say there's sticks above that door, bucket is a very specific trap that u dont wanna confuse with an entire area to push
