People really didn't like the commentary? I thought it was great. Sal's might have been a bit better but he's got a lot more experience doing this kind of stuff. I thought it was great.

So are these gonna be seasonal? That would be pretty good I think, makes sure we have some top tier plays and nobody working on it feels overloaded.

What about less obvious stuff like the razorback? That weapons seems ridiculously unfair in a competitive scene, especially when there's no reason for a competent sniper not to run it.

I'd be interested to hear more about HL players opinions on unlocks. I didn't even know they had strong opinions about them, I thought they were all about never banning anything.

No, they had an agreed upon budget, however the republican controlled house tacked on language that would defund the Affordable Care Act (obamacare) despite the fact that it jumped through all the legislative hoops and became a law. It is essentially entirely unrelated to the budget, however the republicans refused to agree to pass the budget if the parts defunding obamacare were removed. It was never even brought to a vote (not that it would have mattered).

Obviously the democrat controlled senate refused it, and since it's supposed to be about funding the government, not the ACA, they are wholly in the right.

I think this will be the straw that breaks the camels back. From what I can tell republican actions are being almost universally criticized, even from within their own party.

Anyone employed full time by a company will probably feel the impact. I don't really agree with all of obamacare but that's not the point.

The point is that the ACA fulfilled every legislative requirement to be signed into law, and it was signed into law. It's already passed. But instead of fighting the law where it should be fought, they hijacked a mostly unrelated routine congressional undertaking. They literally held the government hostage instead of behaving like responsible lawmakers and working to change public opinion. I'm not looking forward to the affects of the law either but you shouldn't be happy that the people you agree with are completely and totally obliterating the credibility of your position. They're being petty and juvenile. "If I can't have what I want then nobody can!"

edit: also marisa ive never played hl in ugc. My hl experience outside of lobbies is like 4 pugs that I somehow found myself in. I'm just saying what I see from casts and streams

I enjoy hl but I don't think it's comparable to 6s at all. The more people you have on a team the less important each player is overall. I don't hate a lot of unlocks but the ones I do are tolerable because there's only one of them (and one player just doesn't matter too much). If I were to take it more seriously I think HL would need a way stricter banlist. Scouts running the atomizer or sandman instead of dodging or aiming, pyros running the reserve shooter, soldiers with the beggars bazooka and black box, etc. It's hard to take the game seriously when all of these unlocks can (and do) completely supplement player skill. The beggars bazooka thing before the nerf was disgusting to watch. A weapon that is literally impossible to aim was the best weapon for soldier to be using. What's the difference between all that in pubs? I've had way better games on ducksoup than I have playing HL.

It's not really about the amenities but I agree that the rewards are a bit superfluous. Just give subscribers emotes then everyone will be happy.
