Not sure what file they're handled by but if you don't have the custom file it will revert to the clientscheme definitions of the fonts. I think it's like HudFontMediumBold or something but I edited mine well over 3 months ago so I don't really know how much help I can be. I just ended up changing all of the "hud" fonts in my clientscheme to the main font I used.

my steam has been crashing out every couple hours for the past 2 or 3 days. It doesn't really matter what game i'm in as it's crashed while im in CIV5 Tf2 and CS:GO. It also gets stuck on "updating" every time for like 2-3 minutes when it relaunches.

Have not looked at his files but i'm fairly sure he just has a hud crosshair with color set to 0 0 0 0 and has it turn red on hit.

I think the short circuit is like the demo shields. It's super gay but better than the other stuff he could be using.

Weapon you're thinking of is lightning gun, railgun fires a single slug and has a little over a second recharge time between shots

Not easily, the problem with font crosshairs is that you can only really have 1 at a time. The way to swap them is to use minmodes but the problem with this is theres a small delay like with hud_reloadscheme. You can also have achievement panel crosshairs but those are kinda messy to set up and cannot be animated if that matters to you.

I was not aware that you needed a monitor to play pyro.

Default crosshairs are super weird, I normally just use crosshair7 to avoid the dumb shit that happens with 6. I honestly have no idea how it bases its gap in the middle. I know there are commands for it in counterstrike that may have just been left out in tf2
