#1228 mastercomfig - fps/customization config in Customization

ohh you're releasing them as VPKs now +1

idk how long you've been doing it like that, but it's a good idea for easy install

phAZE used anywhere from 3.6in to 5.7in /360 which is pretty crazy when you consider he was a sniper main.

vulcthe g403 would fit you better but there's also the finalmouse ultralight pro which is worth looking at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh56Nxh61Xg incredibly light and good shape

for anyone who actually owns the ultralight finalmouse.
How does it feel with palm grip?
How much shit gets stuck in the hexagon holes after a lot of use?

#139 TF2 update for 3/28/18 in TF2 General Discussion
b4nnyGo watch WarOwl or Greekgod or any new TF2 player playing competitive mode for the first time. They didn't care nor notice any issues with the enforced graphics settings. Your perspective is biased because you are too attached to your FPS configs. Level playing field, standardization and accessibility is a necessity for the integrity of the competitive mode long term. That said, they should definitely add as many commands/settings as possible to the options menus so that FPS config level graphics can still be achieved while maintaining fairness.

Honestly I kinda agree with you, but the main problem is that Dx9 is bugged for a rather large portion of systems albeit I only have anecdotal evidence. Some of the settings enforced are a bit ridiculous see "r_pixelfog", and finally on "low" settings in TF2 I get no where near the same FPS as I do in CSGO even when you account for the difference in player numbers.

#127 TF2 update for 3/28/18 in TF2 General Discussion

https://i.imgur.com/Aigzj9y.png

fuck I'm not playing MM then. Way to many settings are locked with this.

viewmodel fov needs to be adjusted and expanded on in the advance options menu
and seriously a lot of the settings in fps configs should just be done when setting tf2 to "low" anyway...
hell the pixelfog one should just be set for the best viewability by default for everyone regardless of preset.

Also Dx9 flames on burning players absolutely murder FPS on a lot AMD GPU systems. I have no idea why, but with a old PC (AMD CPU and GPU) of mine I rarely dropped below 90fps in dx8 and in dx9 I was around 75, but if there was a burning player near me my fps would tank and it would get worse the closer they were to the point that if a burning player was standing directly next to me my fps would be below 10fps... This was a few years ago and I filed a bug report for it with the exact system I had. This issue still exists on that system and for the heavy on my HL team who has a Intel CPU and a recent AMD GPU in dx9. Issue still doesn't occur in Dx8. Issue also occurs on a spare PC I have that's an Intel CPU and a AMD GPU.

Plus with the Competitive MM settings most people with 144Hz and especially 240Hz monitors will no longer get the frame rates to support it unlike in CSGO. Which really detracts from the whole "competitive" part of MM.

To keep it short.

Pyro doing well is ok.

Pyro doing well easily isn't.

am I seriously the only person that presses "~" until the console shows up? I normally only have to press it 2-4 times...

#6 day of defeat: source in Off Topic

Before I began competitive TF2 in any form, in 2012 I was originally looking to play DOD:S comp, and it looked like the few remaining leagues at that time were on the verge of death having roughly 10-15 teams total for NA. Looking around now there's nothing. I found a reddit post with a link to what the OP said was "This is the last competitive league for Day Of Defeat Source." and the link posted now redirects to some adware extension for chrome.

Otherwise if you want any semblance of competitive DOD you're going to have to find a pug group. I know one existed in NA just last year but pretty much the only people who played it were former Invite or near Invite Tier players.

MenachemComangliaCPU: Intel i7-4790K @4.8 GHzComangliaGetting 240+ in 6s is a breeze and a lot more accessible than you would think
that doesnt really look to qualify as an accessible breeze...

Newer intel cpus have higher base clock speeds and slightly higher IPC.

Example the i7 7700k comes at 4.2GHz or a i5 7600k at 3.8GHz this cpu series has a roughly +10% better IPC than the generation I have so for the i7 7700k @4.2GHz that's roughly equal to my CPU @4.62GHz plus keep in mind I'm talking about 6s here the 7700k should be able to do 240FPS constantly and the i5-7600k would be really close even without overclocking, and assuming you have a FPS config/no shadows/no hats/no explosions script and High Performance power options.

-edit-
240FPS is a breeze if you have the right equipment and I personally consider an i5 accessible. Others may disagree on what "accessible" is.

-edit2-
also forgot to mention that anyone who buys a ~$400-600 240Hz monitor and doesn't think an i5 or i7 is accessible is in the wrong market.

ComangliaZestyAlmost everyone even with configs is gonna dip below 240 fps a lot in tf2 so I doubt it's worth at all. Might be good for CS as it's hitscan only and better optimised tho?
With a good setup, stable overclocking with cool temps, and a lot of optimization you can have ~300fps on 6s midfights.

Main Board: Asus Z87-A ATX
CPU: Intel i7-4790K @4.8 GHz
SSD: Crucial M4 SSD 250GB
Hard Drive: 1TB SeaGate 7200RPM
CPU Fan: Phanteks PH-TC14PE
GPU: ASUS GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX OC
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 32GB 1866MHz
PSU: Cooler Master VSM 650W 80+ Gold
Windows: W10 64-Bit
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Gun Metal)
Monitor: BenQ XL2540 @240Hz

- No Hats Mod
- No explosion smoke script
- No Bullet Hole Dust script

My minimum FPS in a 24 person badwater server is 205 in DX 9 DX 8 in a 24 person server is about 220
yahooye gl having 240fps in this game outside jumpmaps

Quoting a post I made earlier. Considering I can get almost 240+ the entire time I'm in a pub server in DX 8. Getting 240+ in 6s is a breeze and a lot more accessible than you would think unless it was some horribly unoptimized garbo map or driver bugs.

#43 ETF2L Allow potential cheater to play in Playoffs in TF2 General Discussion

Was this like 3 times in a row across like 3+ weeks? or were they all from the same week?

If it's the prior, I say ban him.
If it's the latter, I say let him play and provide all remaining demos and if he misses one overturn the match and ban.

#21 240hz monitors in Hardware

So after another 7 months since I last used my 144Hz for any scrims/matches I used my 144Hz for a little bit last night. I can say the difference is a bit more noticeable now. Though I'm not fully sure if it's just the difference in refresh rates. I swear that on my XL2540 my reaction time is noticeable better and not just by 1-2 ms either. Just using this site as a quick gauge https://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime my reaction time on my XL2420TE is about 8-12ms slower. My XL2540 after a bit a fiddling looks way less washed out than my XL2420TE despite fiddling with it for hours multiple times.

As sniper @240Hz
- shots that are normally "easy" already are even easier
- reaction time based shots feel more consistent and faster (though this may not be because of the refresh rate)
- The hard shots, i.e. the soldier/demo flying at mach3 seem to land a bit more often but not much so.
- flicking from one sight line to another sight line and then lining up another shot is much faster. Normal flick shots don't seem to be much different though.
- Overall accuracy hasn't improved or at least not much, but this may mean that I'm taking riskier shots more often.

really not that obtrusive especially if you put it by the killfeed, and disable the bounding box and icon. can also scale down the text so really not an issue lol.

I remember trying a few of the alphas a few months back, gameplay was rather clunky. Didn't help they only had euro servers at the time too lol. Looking forward to trying it again.
