#7 Config issues, help. in TF2 General Discussion
phazSkyH4ighphazThat interp looks right, it's just reading 0.0152 as 15.2 because the decimals are moved to the right by two.
As for each class I just have hitscan classes as 0.033 and projectile classes as 0.0152

What about the other commands? should i change those others to anything else?

I just use what's defaulted in Comanglia's config, these numbers have been similar throughout all the configs I've messed with.
Show Content
cl_cmdrate 67
cl_interp .033
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize 2
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime 0.01
cl_updaterate 67
rate 60000

if you play soldier use cl_interp .0152 or 0

rowpiecespretty much you want 0.152 for projectiles, and 0.33 / 0.31 for hitscan, you can easily change it in your config by switching cl_interp_ratio from 1-2

For ESEA users you'll have to set cl_interp to whatever interp you want as cl_interp_ratio is locked to 1

#7 windows 10 stuttering in Hardware

Try uninstalling your drivers
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html (you'll find the download down the page.)

Reinstall latest driver

see if the issue still occurs

some explanation

Windows 10 has automatic drive updates.
Most of the time when you update your drivers the original driver isn't always full uninstalled (if at all) and can cause issues.

#206 Comanglia's Config / FPS Guide in Customization
smvnComanglialeonwhat happened to the toaster config link?ComangliaI really should take the potato config down, there's alot of people who use it when they probably shouldn't
To many people were downloading it thinking it was the best one for them when it wasn't. I'd imagine less than 0.5% of the ENTIRE TF2 userbase should actually use that config.

I made that config for people who we on old netbooks with on chip GPUs literally people with fullsize laptops that are relatively new or even most desktops from the Windows XP era should be using the mid-quality PC one.

what are the downsides to using that config if your computer isnt bad, and if it did help with extra fps why wouldnt we use it?

compared to the stability one their's 5 differences if I recall

mat_filterlightmaps (extremely marginal difference for super low end gfx users)
mat_filtertextures (extremely marginal difference for super low end gfx users)
mat_specular (a small but real difference)
mat_trilinear (extremely marginal difference for super low end gfx users)
mat_viewportupscale (the most drastic change that does help people with shitty PCs, but it makes the game horrifyingly blurry)

Mr_Harvardhey comanglia, i have a question, how come my lerp is 14 instead of 15.2?

cl_updaterate 67 (instead of 66)
cl_cmdrate 67 (instead of 66)
let me be more specific here
1/66 = .01515
1/67 = .01492

MagikarpComangliaAnyone else get the whole you can't connect to VAC server bs?Yesterday my friend brought his laptop to college to play and got this message while I had no idea why it happened since I didn't think we had any of the listed external programs open. Did this just happen to you after this particular update? But also thanks for the info so I can help fix it for my friend if it comes again.

Anyone else get the whole you can't connect to VAC server bs?

-edit-
In case anyone else had this bs this is the step that fixed it for me

Repair the Steam Service
This may also indicate a Steam Service failure. Please try repairing the Steam Service:
Exit Steam.
Click Start > Run (Windows Key + R)
Type the following command:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe" /repair

(If you have installed Steam to another path, please replace C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam with the correct path.)

This command requires administrator privileges and may take a few minutes.
Launch Steam and test the issue again.

komorebiComangliaI really should take the potato config down, there's alot of people who use it when they probably shouldn't
The potato config without viewport is awesome though - gives me an extra ~20 average fps on my ancient crappy laptop. Personally I'd just comment that out and explain what it does. Game is totally playable with just that one setting changed.

20 more fps than my mid-quality PC one?

#182 Windows 10 release day in Off Topic
KanecoBonafideOk so I know I probably shouldn't trust Imgur on this matter but
http://imgur.com/gallery/8OJ4t

If this turns out to be true, then wtf microsoft, luring people into getting "free" upgrades

Can anyone confirm?
So I'm holding off upgrading to windows 10 atm for this reason alone. Is this fully confirmed?

I'm 100% sure that Jave B. is wholly uneducated about what invalidates a windows install. I've added both RAM and another HDD to my new desktop since installing windows 10 and haven't had an issue with invalidation.

Also side note.

If you have an SSD in a current build with the windows 7/8 on it and want to use it in your new build. Just put the SSD into the new build, do the upgrade to windows 10 and you'll have a valid install again (I did this with an OEM install of windows 7).

#187 Comanglia's Config / FPS Guide in Customization
nopeSo I crash whenever I join 2fort_invasion now. I use your maxfps config. A friend told me that when he switched to chris' highframes he stopped crashing, so I suspect it's something to do with the config. Anyone know the relevant command/s?

unless valve broke something the only command I would recommend trying is cl_threaded_bone_setup 0

#24 Building a new computer need help. in Q/A Help
floeyComangliafloeyTHANK YOU HOLY SHITE
Show Content
but which of both builds is better though, im planning to play tf2 on 1024x768 with a maxfps config and to play csgo on same res, also id like to get fairly good fps in both (200,300) i dont plan on streaming and other games i wanna play is OVERWATCH. thats it. thank you :>

both builds should perform basically the same in every game, and I'd give a VERY small edge to the skylake build.
do you think they can run overwatch when it comes out? i know theres no way of saying yet but

I'd be surprised if that PC couldn't handle almost any game at 60+ FPS on medium settings. I'd assume on Low Settings overwatch should be an easy 140+FPS for either build, but I have no way to 100% confirm that.

-edit-
assuming 1080p. 1440p / 2160p I have no idea.
