Not true. I got asked to submit my POV demo from week 2, even though we were on week 5 already.

#44 How I made TF2 run beautifully in Hardware
RaelynWait, I'm confused. Wasn't OP capable of using Freesync with his 5700 XT? If so, why not just use that rather than go through this RTSS/V-Sync stuff on a fixed refresh rate? Seems to me using G-Sync or Freesync on a VRR would be better. Or are you forced to use a fixed refresh rate in order to use PureXP? Asking because I'm actually getting this monitor tomorrow.

When you have PureXP enabled you can't use Gsync/FreeSync.

#39 How I made TF2 run beautifully in Hardware
albaFrom some minor testing I'll keep this on for some scrims. Definately very smooth and no screentearing at all. I'm using benq xl2546 and capped the hz on 118.987. I don't really notice and input lag increase. I turned on fast sync in nvidia not sure if that had any impact. All in all thanks for the tip

I think you should try VSync instead because Fast Sync is meant for when you get at least 2x the fps of your refresh rate, but since you capped your fps below your refresh rate you don't get the benefit. Fast Sync may also suffers from pretty terrible frame pacing.

Brimstoneso if i'm using gsync will going through all this benefit me?

No you won't get the benefits of following OP's steps.

I recommend using GSync and capping your fps a few frames below your refresh rate. At 144hz you will want a 141fps cap (a 3fps differential). At low refresh rates (75Hz for example) you can use a differential of 1fps, but at 240hz you may want a bigger differential such as 5fps or 7fps. You should also enable VSync because when you're only using GSync + FPS Cap you will still have some tearing along the edges of your screen which VSync will fix.
