bearodactyledit: looks like divineAT above me edited it out but he said something along the lines of the BenQ having an advantage with ~400 nits vs 200 of xg270, maybe that's not accurate?
Yeah I was thinking of a different monitor, my bad.
The best monitor for gaming right now is the BenQ XL2546K. It's used at every CS:GO Major because of how little motion blur it has compared to every other monitor in the market. It is a 240hz monitor, but it's motion clarity is more important then having 360hz.
Scoutmango to targetid.res , TargetNameLabel decrease wide value
I did end up finding the file responsible for it, but initially whenever I tried changing the wide value it wouldn't budge. I just rechecked and I saw
"auto_wide_tocontents" "1"
in TargetNameLabel. I set it to 0 and now it works. The only issue is that the health number of my target doesn't change it's position normally which is towards the center. I ended up just moving my health and ammo down so it doesn't overlap, but if you have any idea how to fix it without moving anything down that would be great.

will overlap if I move health back to original position.
Is there a way to add a limit to how many characters my heal targets name can have? Long names overlap with my health and it's a little annoying.
mustardoverlordthis might be kind of a dumb question but I've only ever used a TN panel, how noticeable is that loss in response time in actual competitive games? anyone have experience with it or any newer IPS being advertised with a 1ms response time?
You will not be able to perceive the lower response time just based on feel (unless you're coming from a monitor with a high response time). You want a low response time on your monitor because it minimizes image ghosting which will help with clarity and image quality. Ghosting will make it look like you have motion blur on.
This of course highly depends on the monitor because some manufactures make their monitors have 1ms but have horrible ghosting. The LG 27GL850 is a really good monitor and doesn't have that issue. Though the "below 5ms" is pure marketing because it achieves it by introducing other artifacts like ghosting. As long as you keep the setting of the response time to just "Fast" and not "Faster" it will be fine.

zfnWould it be worth spending more for Display Port 1.4 and HDMI 2.0, or is DP1.2 / HDMI 1.4 still perfectly fine?
When you buy the AOC 24G2 it will have both a DisplayPort and HDMI cable included.
zfnApologies for reviving this thread, but what's the current go-to monitor for gaming @144hz?
AOC 24G2. Even though it says freesync many people had it work with gsync beautifully.
Why is it that some huds allow me to press m and q to open my inventory and close it, but some doesn't? How would I integrate it in huds that don't have it?
Cool project. Would be good to show heal stats similar to what logs.tf shows you.
