if this were me doing it I would just grab the field for the title from another hud's mainmenuoverride.res file and simply make it fit in. bwhud and the old yAhud are 2 huds that I know of off the top of my head that have this feature.

The problem with this is that mm didn't change much at all from the beta. Even in the beta custom graphics configs could be used. You cannot:
It's even been acknowledged that comp mm came out long before it should have. If improvements were actively being made on rebalancing weapons, there'd be a lot better perception of comp mm but it's been far too long since an update that changed weapon stats. Only bugs more or less. What's even a bit more upsetting is the fact that there have been so many good suggestions about what could be done to balance certain weapons.
There's no doubt that a balanced game is a fun game, as the video mentioned about sm4sh, but there's only so much that we as the comp community can do before we have to rely on developer backing. Melee obviously hasn't gotten that but the only way that melee could become a balanced game would be to release a whole new game, since it was released in an era that didn't have bugs that could be patched out through online updates.

if you're asking about everything, then mainmenuoverride.res and gamemenu.res are what need to be transferred. You will also need to to change fonts within mainmenuoverride to match the ones within the hud that you're transferring the files to.
Kylo_renI can agree that the crossbow can be annoying to play against but remember you have a med with the crossbow as well man. It can heal about 75 HP at point blank / short range meaning that well that's about a medium range direct rocket. Not a lot, I mean. Roamer's main job is to kill the med or to take a pic and well bombing into the 300 health pocket or 260 HP demo won't help a lot if you are alone.
Makes the game slower......Hmmm, i disagree. Without the crossbow, HP will be a lot more valuable and therefore engagements, especially on the flank, will be less frequent. COnsequentiallly the game slows down. Imagine a passive playstyle team without the crossbow. They would go like full turtle with engi on the second point.
I think the crossbow is balanced. It's a weapon which rewards skill (or spam in case of damage intended arrows) Gives the medic another weapon which he can use to heal. The uber-building attribute made it that much better.
I can't recall in the past where the crossbow was abused or OP. Harbelu's snakewater play maybe but that was skill not luck.
Oh.....Shade dropping Knox with it across snake mid.......right.

The healing and uber gain are the problems. If 75 was the max health that you could heal rather than the minimum, it'd be a bit less of an issue. Also the whole arrow building thing makes tracking ubers really difficult unless you know that a team is going to do it every time a stalemate is about to be reached. It's just things are at the point where if you're not running the crossbow you're throwing
Harbleu's double kill at i52 was really a triumphant victory over a situation that couldn't have been set up any more perfectly for him. Both of the remaining members of IM where low enough to the point that an ubersaw swipe and crossbow bolt would kill them both. Not to discredit the fact that that play alone was arguably the single best play to ever happen at a tf2 lan
Also that was TheFragile who dropped KnOxXx during that i55 snakewater match, unless you're counting shade's pick onto KnOxXx at i49 on process :)

-How do I modify the size and position of the health, clip/reserve ammo and combat text (above the health indicator)?
Jw321123So to start off:-How do I adjust the height of the scoreboard?
- you can change the location of your ammo through the "hudweaponammo" field within hudlayout.res. To change the position of your health, go to hudplayerhealth.res and the first field that's in there should be what you would alter to move your health around.
- To change the size of your numbers, I'd suggest finding the font that's used (Cerbetica24 for example) and pick a reasonable number larger than it. Typically you won't have trouble if you just increment the number by 2 but when you get in the 30s and try to use a number like 34 and get really small text, then the entry doesn't exist. If that's the case, check your clientscheme.res file and do a search for what font was originally used and you'll find what font entries are installed. What I'd suggest is simply going with an entry that's already there (if there's only a Cerbetica36 entry then just use that). Making new entries is easy but if you're just changing the size I'd recommend just sticking with the presets
- The damage text is controlled by huddamageaccount.res but just changing the positioning of it can be done through hudlayout.res (I believe that's the case but since I don't have my files in front of me I'm not entirely sure)
Height as in where it's positioned or how tall it extends up or down? Because there are two answers that I can give here

I would recommend you watch this video, but watching through 25 minutes of a video for one specific part can be a waste of time. If you want to change everything I'd suggest watching the video but if you want to do something simple like make your character appear more zoomed in that's easier to answer

"PlayCompetitive" (I think that's the name) within mainmenuoverride.res should be the field that will allow you to change its position.
If that's not the name of it, turn cheats on with sv_cheats 1, and type vgui_drawtree 1 into your console. Check the "highlight selected" box and click a few boxes until you find "Mainmenuoverride" and from there you should see a list of all that's displayed on your screen currently
also hud_reloadscheme will not work for main menu changes. Change your mat_antialias value to see the changes that you've made
Sorry if this isn't the best worded. I don't have my hud files in front of me so I'm going purely off of what I know from memory

yeah the vgui drawtree is really helpful if you're trying to find the specific file of something but getting used to using it when you're starting out can be a bit challenging

as much as I'd like it to be removed from the game it's not actually going to happen, but here are some suggestions that I thought of
thoughts?
sageI actually think removing the crossbow would make playing medic less stressful since you wont have situations where there's 3 teammates standing still in a midfight because "just arrow me dude" (x3) or demanding a clutch arrow while you are healing with a medigun someone that's already weak.
it'd make priority healing a bigger thing since there's only so much that can be done with the medigun alone. Some of your teammates would be forced to go and get health packs more often and pushing off of a lot of damage might become a thing again.
Recently, it's more or less your roamer has to either get a force or actually kill the medic because if you have a really good bomb and do a lot of damage to 2 players it's basically useless since arrows heal for so much
see if we could test out potential changes with the crossbow these threads wouldn't need to be made but the only time that changes might happen is in the annual (if we're lucky enough for that) weapon "rebalance" update since there are a number of good suggestions that have been put out there for potential changes

size wise which one would you say feels bigger? G403 or G402?
because there's some user out there who only plays sniper and has a Sydney sleeper in every form and his strange ones are all leveled up to hale's own from only farming them in achievement idle servers and his favorite one has 696969 kills on its name and description of it consists of just a bunch of lenny faces.
Also it's been stated before I think that removing any weapons is without a doubt off the table, so waiting for the annual rebalance update is really all that we can hope for outside of the individual leagues banning weapons
