The fact that people still even consider supporting ESEA after all that has happened makes me wonder if they still have any self respect left.
MR_SLIN Sure ESEA abused our trust but the actual harm that they caused was minimal at best. All of this talk about malware and bitcoin mining is all valid, but it ultimately won't harm you and is simply a necessary precaution to take when having an anti-cheat for your league.
This logic is on par with Platinum ESEA-girlfriend analogy
Keep in mind comp.tf is a community project and as such some maps or locations are still missing, feel free to contribute and we have this template in place (http://comp.tf/wiki/Template:Map_locations) for you to create new locations or edit existing ones
Also, everyone still supporting ESEA, I think it's fine if you call that decision but you shouldn't try to persuade other people to still play it, if the ship is sinking then go along with it dont get more people on board.
You guys have to accept that sometimes to take 2 steps forward you have to take one step backwards, I know thats a hard concept to grasp, but just accept it's over, some of you have gone to the ridiculous of defending ESEA monitoring activity and banning people just because you need lan.
TwitchTVJohnThere's a ton of games out there that have nothing. NOTHING. Some of the best games ever made have never really had a reliable platform with consistent prize money (Look at Wolf:ET in NA. The best team based FPS ever made. I played in fucking TWL.).
Ok, this is something I can answer. I played W:ET for 4-5 years, thousands of hours literally, I played it competitively as well, It was never a big competitive game because it was never intended to be so and it didn't have dev support either, in many ways it situation was very similar to tf2, but the difference is it didn't have a huge platform like steam promoting it. It had a huge following for the first few years and then the commmunity slowly started desintegrating, yes its one of the best FPS ever, and its class based, it probably required even more teamwork than tf2, it was an outstanding game, but it never made it past that, because of the lack of support.
Yet, we still had clanbase, ELS (in europe), local leagues. Albeit they weren't the major leagues the competitive scene was there, and still is (over at http://www.crossfire.nu/)
MastShame it would have been nice to at least try and unify the rules
Mhhh, yeah I would open a NA division just to test waters and see how it would go, but it would still require a lot of work put into it and new admins coming in, I understand this decision, but I hope someday we can run both scenes under one unified ruleset
Before I used youtube mostly, and songza (which is great to discover new stuff btw)
But since a few months I have changed to spotify and atm I have been using Spotify Premium for 6+ Months, it's great, discover a lot of stuff, shame it doesn't have every artist or albuns, but for stuff a little harder to find I use youtube.
angel1 Platinum and b4nny retiring would all of a sudden kill TF2 immediately?
No.
I keep delaying my fragvid and ppl keep using the songs I wanna use, you magnificent bastard, I love that song! The movie was great as well! Keep up
turtsmcgurtsi agree. seeing as how nearly every teams server runs sourcemod for DM/MGE a person could add code into those plugins (as they are open source, although that doesn't matter with the decompiler) to give advantages to him/his team. nobody would be able to figure out about it, either. edit: i also think the only way to check what plugins a server is running requires rcon access
also the CEVO guy just said that it costs nothing to use one of their servers for matches, so I just don't see why not.
the funniest thing I can think of a person could do would be adding a random chance (10%?) that when they're shot by an enemy scout/sniper, that the shot does no damage. as far as the other team knows, the server has shitty reg. you could slightly increase the rate uber charges to shave off 2-3 seconds (for all those times that you die at 99%!) edit: could have the plugin inform you when the other team offclasses, have it keep you updated on what the other medics uber is, ect. kind of fun thinking of all the possibilities, aha.
What? I have played for 5 seasons on ETF2L which has over 300 teams per season and 99% of the matches are played on the teams personal server and I have literally never even heard of any try to manipulate the server to any team advantage. There are more than 2000 oficials per season and it has was never even reported or heard of. I think you are making this issue up (not in the sense that it can't happen, but in the sense that it has never happened as far as I know.)
meh, I didn't read the books, liked the first movie, not a instant classic but it was entertaining enough for me, maybe will see the 2nd one when I have time
also, I like jennifer lawrence
WariTHE SNAKES ARE GONE FROM SNAKEWATER
THERE ARE NO SNAKES IN THE WATER
WHAT?
pls dont be true, pls dont be true
AMputator looks pretty cool atm as well.
Also wonder if the xbow buff applies to damage only or heals as well.
And by the way what was the old xbow max damage?
Hey Nahanni I think you're doing a great work and Im just trying to put forward some discussion.
Have you actually looked at other options other than CEVO? Have you contacted any other leagues / organizations other than CEVO? Both UGC and ETF2L clearly stated their support for the NA scene next season here on the forums and etf2l even announced they were recruiting admins for the NA ETF2L
Obviously influential communities and personalities declaring their support on one of the options will prompt a lot of other people to make the move. So what I am asking is just if all the options were on the table and the pros / cons of each ones were weighted. It's great tho that you and tagg have finally come forward with a proposal.
If the ETF2L NA scene does open sign up, the community might be a little fragmented over 2-3 leagues for these future seasons so it is important that influential people like you and tagg take a position but more importantly a fundamented and well thought position (please think in the long run).
