I Love Mid. Really feels like whoever aggresses first wins, which is something I love in a mid. There's some convenient passive space for the med, there's good high ground for both soldiers and scouts... feels good.

2nd holds are strange. It's very difficult to find a good defensive position as a med. Either you get on spire so you can heal everyone but kinda blind yourself, or you get back on the porch so you can see and leave easily but leave your flank out to dry.

The only good way to push into last is through top right. Main shutter doesn't bring you any closer, left is too easy to get forced early. The only right way is through right. I also feel that any good team will always win a push into last with uber ad. In addition to there being no good sentry spots, the only good place to kite into is spawn, and the doors are so close together they should be easy to camp long enough for someone to get the cap.

The fact that he's still trying to convince you they were real AFTER you've bought them means to me that he either didn't mean to rip you off (sometimes people are absolutely retarded about how they make their edibles) or he's legit. People who are fucking with you will either stop texting you or laugh in your face. Through text.

Anyway, I've had it happen with friends before where they eat a bit, wait a while, feel nothing, eat the rest, and then an hour later get destroyed beyond words since whoever made the thing only meant for like a quarter of it to be eaten at a time. Eat half the thing, wait at least an hour, preferably two if you're inexperienced with edibles, then start considering that you might have been gypped.

I know nothing about how this works. What do you need besides a running PC and vods of the casts? I kinda figured you could basically just turn it on and do an AFK stream.

It certainly won't get the 1000+ viewers that the ESL stream usually gets, but I know I would watch it pretty regularly. To be honest, I do agree, it'll probably only be getting 10-20 viewers most of the time, but I could see it going to 100+ during peak hours, especially if word gets out about it and people who aren't so good at the game get directed there.

Besides that, ESL is just an example; it doesn't have to be followed to the letter. If for whatever reason it's really, truly unfeasible to do a true 24/7 stream, I think it'd still be nice to have guaranteed streams at certain times of the day.

It's honestly kinda sad. I imagine most of them have been lost to time, but we could have upwards of 5 years worth of casts out there; that's easy, easy rebroadcast content. Gotta get those piles of Twitch cash.

They tried to do something like this in the last offseason, but as far as I know they only restreamed one game. I would love to see something like what https://www.twitch.tv/esl_overwatch does, just constantly streaming reruns if there are no live games to cast.

Drudgery had some very weird aspects to it. The ones that come straight to mind:
1. Even with the spire and two tetris things, mid felt vast and empty. Can't decide whether this is just a visual issue on my end.
2. The 2nd hold is, theoretically, crazy strong. I feel like teams did not play that high ground properly; I felt unassailable standing up there.
3. 2nd caps almost as fast as last, making backcaps when trying to push mid extremely dangerous, especially since you have to cover two flanks that are far apart
4. Last itself is strangely cramped. Most of the room by the far shutter is dead room that no one really wants to stand in. I did like the concept that last brought, though; trying to find a good defensive position is very difficult, to the point where I was considering forgoing a real last hold at all except in desperate situations and just trying to hold lobby. If the goal really was to make it difficult to defend, then the attackers need more props to play around. As is, they either play on the ground or have to jump up to the easily spammable ledges.

This map is full of weird, unfamiliar ideas, but I have trouble saying it's actually bad..

as an edit, i dont have time to make a real reply to you right now, but I want to clarify that other than my first point these weren't exactly meant to be criticisms. I more wanted to point out some unusual concepts that I think contribute to why people are having so much trouble adapting to this map.

Daytrip and TFCL both had some pretty major issues besides game mode. Nasty chokes and crazy bombs were the hallmarks for Daytrip, and the unplayable flank of TFCL was a whole other dimension of frustrating.

accept that you will be wrong often, and also that many other people in this community are extremely jaded. the shit talk never ends, but if you keep playing, you will get better, and there are enough people in this community that you will meet people you like playing with. watch videos of competitive play here and there, try to watch some comp guides if everyone says they're good, no matter how hard they are to watch.
