I saw Weird Al at some dinky county festival and I'll be damned if he didn't put on the best show I'd ever seen. He couldn't be making much money off it, I only paid $5 and had front row seats, but he was so energetic, had really great rapport with the crowd, and it was just a ton of fun. He played 3-4 encores, it was about 3 hours too.

Mr_OwlThey shouted some insults at NiP after winning at DH Bucharest in response to NiP using an admin fuckup to essentially wipe clean 3 rounds that Fnatic had won in OT.
Immature behavior by both teams but the video that went around only showed the insults so people just assumed the worst of fnatic because there's no way their precious NiP stars would do anything unreasonable to hunt for wins.
KarlI don't really like fnatic but most of the people spamming the bucharest vid on fnatic hate threads don't understand the context at all of the situation. This podcast sums the situation up pretty well if you care https://youtu.be/mVCWWk20FOA?list=PLpaD0ybYH0S0EchbX0CJTl2zWmsrIAfr5
I'm not saying I agree with that, it's just the start of when the fnatic hate train started getting big. I don't think shittalking or whatever in sports is a big deal, and I know that NiP and Fnatic don't have a feud about it. They've let bygones be bygones but clearly the rest of the community hasn't.
ForefatherI have no idea why so many ppl hate fnatic
I know some some of it comes from the whole boosting scandal but tons of people hated them before that
it's also cool to hate fnatic so thats part of it
I think a lot of it started after Bucharest, when Fnatic (allegedly?) slighted NiP during the handshake or something. And then it kept snowballing because reddit.
HildrethJust find people you enjoy gaming with.
But just to put it into perspective, you might find a lot of older people don't want to play with you not because of your voice but because the age gap means there is a different level in maturity or interests. For instance I am in my 20's, I was born in 1990 so it would be harder for someone of my age to relate to a 13 year old these days, since we would have different humour.
If you find people you enjoy the game with then it doesn't matter but don't expect people several years older than you to want to play with you. When I build teams I do take personality into account with some players, you need to want to enjoy their company if you're committing to spend half your weeknights gaming with them (or more).
But yeah, find some friends and game, nothing should stop you but don't be surprised if older gamers don't want to be your friend.
100% correct, but on the other hand I played with a team for a 3-4 months, really loved playing with them, played other games together and hung out in mumble a lot, and got to know them fairly well before realizing that they were almost a decade younger than me. I've also met people my age who are incredibly immature and not fun to be around, so as long as you keep that in mind I think age won't be a huge issue.
Just a little heads up, this is a community focused around competitive TF2. You might not have a great reception to videos that don't have much to do with comp, although I'm sure reddit/r/tf2 would love this sort of content. Best of luck!
PwnuExplain to me how being a scammer makes you a bad person by default? Sure he took advantage of people, sure he was an asshole to them. At the end of the day, he's a nice guy who can make me laugh, and is cool to hang out with.
I think it's the manipulation of our community's good faith and volunteerism to personally profit.
tordanaOwner of ReSurfed here (I was providing my server for the surfing section of the event).
I think it's really a shame that, regardless of the trustworthiness of Snoven, the TF2 community managed to witch hunt hard enough to freak out the kid and force a cancellation of the event. The point of this was not to inflate anybody's ego, it was to raise money for a good cause and help out some kids in need. I personally just sent in $25 directly via childsplaycharity.org and I encourage others to do the same.
The issues that people have expressed with snoven are only those with a direct impact on his ability to manage a charity event with competence and transparency. I think everyone here recognizes that the important part of the event is raising money for a good cause, and people are upset because it appears the administrator has come between our community's willingness to donate and the money actually reaching Child's Play. I work at a non-profit and I haven't seen anything here that crosses the border from "legitimate concerns" to witch hunting. I know if my org ran a similar event, I would be prepared and able to answer any of these concerns with openness and ease. Transparency is a really, really big deal in this field.
You are right though, the important part here is to not let this setback get in the way of people donating to Child's Play through legitimate channels.
lucrativeyo! looking to play with anybody who wants to, add me on steam or add my origin (lucrativeee) i play all the time and would love some more people to play with!
I sent you an add (PineMaple), I want to try out Frontier Mode sometime with non-randos.
BonafideMaple- Updated the description for The Gunslinger to include the three hit comboIt always was, the bug was just it also worked on allies
So this is an intended mechanic?
I believe you but that seems really odd to me. Just seems like a random attribute attached to the weapon, especially given they didn't originally include that in the description. Kind of weird design from my perspective.

Happy to see this. I've been wanting to play Titanfall recently too. Is the community as dead as everyone says?
Why do people keep picking Penta to advance over Titan? I've seen this prediction a number of times but never seen any explanation for it.
lynaphraxnormal sports are also way better for you (esp for young kids) than videogames so as much as i enjoy games it's probably better that sports stay more popular
I agree with this and would also like to add that real sports are much harder than esports. It's a lot easier to play video games hours on end than to continually strain your body with physical activity.
In general you're right but back when I played baseball, I could handle 4 hour games fairly easily (since you're basically sitting on the bench for half the game) but playing 4 hours of actually competitive matches and scrims can be more mentally exhausting.
HerganWhy Muselk? The fact that he gets like tons of viewers on Twitch doesn't make him a big star, so why post him opinion? Who even cares about some pubbers opinion?
Regardless of whether you actually like his videos or not, he's very much in touch with the attitude of most pubbers and the reddit TF2 community. You can disagree with his thoughts all you want (and I do) but if we're curious as to how TF2's casual playerbase is going to respond to a competing game, watching Muselk's thoughts is probably your best choice. Obviously his opinions are going to have less relevance to a competitive player's opinion but that's no reason to get super upset about it.
