#13 evlTV ESEA-I evl.gg vs TSU Gecks / Marxist in TF2 General Discussion
WholegrainSideshowcompetition!snot really a competition if one of the competitors posts their announcements on their opponents website

In what way will these two casts not be competing for viewers, what are you on about. Why does it matter where you announce it, and why should viewers not have the opportunity to choose between two sets of great casters?

#2 ZOWIE 16 Cup: Brackets in News

For any teams who were on the lower end of the seeding: congrats on having the balls to sign up and play! You'll learn a lot if you take the games seriously and try to learn from the experience. If you get knocked out early, it might be a good idea to contact other teams who were also knocked out to have similarly competitive matches while the later rounds are running! Have fun.

Cool graphic and should be a sick cast, will be tuning in.

Only niggle is that the title for this thread is unintelligible at first glance. If you're going to be posting more whenever there's a highlight cast could you aim to make them a bit easier to read?

#31 Crowdfunding Site for TF2 tournaments and players in Projects

I don't think it's a scam, but you have to realise Manhattan that this kind of project requires a professional-level team of coders, designers and management staff to make it work. It also doesn't have enough of a draw above the competition unfortunately.

#10 Crowdfunding Site for TF2 tournaments and players in Projects

I don't think you can make the argument that tf2 is "asking for too much money from the community" when bigger esports are consistently applying this model with Compendiums, stickers etc. Just because it's being run through the game and you get some shit in-game doesn't change the system of fans funding teams/players. The main 'purchase' you get for those items/donations is the event itself and the entertainment which is never free to create.

As for the website itself I am always going to be ultra-cautious of sites which are handling large amounts of money. What makes this different to sites you've mentioned such as Indiegogo, imraising, or kickstarter? Just that it's esports-specific?

#41 ZOWIE 16 Cup - hosted by teamfortress.tv in News
Forsak3nSideshowForsak3nwhy not. we have options and i will edit the roster l8r.
To clarify, I am not considering your team signed up until you have at least 4 players on the roster that are signed up. You can change the roster later but I want to make sure that teams on here are committing to the cup and not just reserving a slot to think about it later.
so have we already lost our slot or not? since i can add some ppl right now if it helps.

I am fairly certain that some of the teams will drop out beforehand since this happens most of the time. I intend to contact all of the teams directly before the brackets are published to confirm which teams are in, so adding people now will put you near the top of the list should any of the teams decide not to participate.

Of course the ELO matching hasn't worked out, there's a tiny sample size. In the future I would expect it to work better than "first come first served" for subs, or even the captain just picking the best person who applies.
