Peeked around a bit more in decompiled rd_asteroid. It looks like killing bots was originally going to deactivate the lasers to allow your team to quickly get into the other team's core. The entities to do it are still there, they're just not triggered.

LKincheloeSo far I haven't been able to find a way to change the 300 point limit, might be hard-coded into the map.

Just ended up decompiling the map and playing around with a few things. The bot respawn time, bot health, number of bots at once, and point limit are all baked into the map.

After recompiling the map still worked mostly as it should. Bots didn't move around their tracks, but that could probably be figured out real easy. Mappers could start making custom RD maps basically right away, which is good because I hate this map's design and don't have high hopes for Valve saving it.

The gamemode itself would work as well as CTF, all of CTFs flaws included. The intel takes forever to reset for how important it is in this mode.

The map itself I think is awful. It's a mess of corridors that don't make for a fun fighting arena. There are some more open areas, but a large part of it is corridors wide enough for 3 people only. That said, it's probably okay if you like cp_steel.

SpyromancerWatching duwatna's stream makes me think Robot Destruction would be a pretty cool 6's gamemode from both a player and spectator pov. Has anyone played enough on it to comment on what would and wouldn't work well in that setting? I could imagine it devolving into engie intel camping and sniper wars on the 2Fort section, but the new depth of strategy seems like it'd be a nice new teamwork over raw DM map.

The map looks pretty damn good. From what I saw while going through this with Benroads, there's only a few issues that should probably be addressed.

This spot can cover basically the entire map. It's a damn big sightline for snipers. The area that I'm standing here could probably be covered up.

This opening into the spawn area is really open too. A sniper on this balcony could easily abuse it. Covering up the balcony/patio-like area in the last suggestion would probably fix this nicely.

The spawn doesn't have to be that far back. The spawn doors could be moved up to the open doors and the map would still play out just fine.

Other than that, I really like how everything else about the map flows together. You should definitely get some people to play the map and test it before any major changes are made.

Set maxplayers to 24

If there aren't enough player slots, the map can't create the bots and it will lag the game hard.

That should be all of the files associated with the w and v models of the old rocket launcher. Thank grape.

These look to be half of the texture files. There should be .vtf files in addition to the .vmt files.

The model files themselves have a lot of different extensions. One will have the .mdl extension, and there will be .dx80.vtx, .dx90.vtx, .sw.vtx, .vvd, and .phy files that accompany it.
