i can't believe anyone would ever consider using two drugs
Literally nothing is worse than doing something you don't want to do for a living. If art is really your passion, you should talk to your parents maturely about it and show them that it's not only profitable, but your dream. Working a 9-5 in some bullshit you don't care about and hate will actually probably lead you to do more drugs to find happiness. Not that I look down on that at all, but if it's something you want to change about yourself, you should pursue your art. Ask them to support you while you cement your art career, pay rent to them if that's what they want by finding even a $9/h part-time job somewhere, and work on what you enjoy.
It's ridiculous that in 2015 people have to be forced into doing something they don't like. Not everyone is lucky enough to pursue their dream, but if you're young there's most of the time no reason not to try. Do what you can while you can. And there's no reason to rush to move out if they're not forcing you out. Save the money.
What's even more confusing about this little argumoent is that you're comparing NA esea to the one short-term experience you had with ESEA when they tried moving into Europe
I just seriously do not see the connection at all whatsoever and every single keystroke you've made has gone utterly to waste because at this point the services might as well not have even been from the same company
I'm not justifying anything. I'm telling you your solution is stupid. Because it is true that where you find competition you'll find what you like to define as toxicity
also real sports != the internet in terms of vernacular, so please don't argue semantics between those two realms
last post because lord god it's like painful to my brain
PS: you don't understand the point of the comparison
pspspspsps
basically you have to realize the idea of "toxicity" will keep some players away, but they weren't going to be the players who were going to get to the top regardless
that's why you see games like csgo being so toxic. people play it to be the best and improve. the game has sponsors for fuck's sake and it's still toxic as all hell. ibuypower is a real company and they sponsored steel who called people cunts and retards and [use your imagination] every other streaming session. iBP steel tho!
i'm not saying everyone being the most supportive and nice they can be won't entice some people to join the community, but it's a futile attempt at fueling competition. surprisingly, competition and drive to be the best are what you need for a competitive game to flourish. and sponsors/money.
bastidif you want comp tf2 to grow you can't fling shit for laffs because of the small size of the scene, it leaves much more of an impression. if a new player comes here and reads all the toxicity, well why the fuck would they want to stay, they're not legacy players, they're not in good with the vets, there's nothing for them really. the sort of gang mentality here just serves to deflate enthusiasm and quash real discussion
If you want to compare TF2 to Smash Bros as some posters have done, Smashboards is 100% politically correct and it has worked out very very well for them. it's a very fun community without being, like, whitebread. if someone complains about a character, they are laughed away instead of here where people just love to jack off to pyro hate for example (which is actually really anti-competitive in the first place). even if you don't really believe that, you'd have to be stupid not to realize posting it on a public forum is a bad idea
You basically have to ask yourself if you want to keep veteran TF2 players around or introduce new blood onto the scene, because finding a happy medium seems to be impossible. If it's the latter, sacrifices and changes will have to be made. somehow i don't think the majority of players actually want that though. they want to keep 6s a social thing, and keep it the same.
I guess the point is the central hub for comp TF2 doesn't act like it.
this forum is just about as politically correct as smashboards. you must not know much about that community at all if you think it's 100% politically correct
rofl you can literally read posts by people like westballz and mango that would make you think it's by far worse than anything you've read here. ive read threads surrounding the hate around a transgendered person
the reason it worked out for smash is because A) they were extremely lucky and B) smash is like a novelty game. there aren't many people in the world who don't have a nice memory about playing melee as a kid. they all like it and theyre all familiar with it, which is why it gets like hundreds of thousands of viewers for evo. smash also has a very supportive community, but seriously it's not worlds ahead of ours by any means
these are the worst posts i've ever seen in my life. i can't fathom how even one of you truthfully believes that toxicity is affecting this game's playerbase
gggly at the top of the streaming list has nothing to do with his title, it's more to do with the fact that nobody streams this game because there's nothing to do. this game was being beaten in viewership by a hello kitty game. and when our "top streamer" does stream, banny, he takes it 100% seriously and is a prime example of the antithesis of "toxic streamer"
moe threatens that he's going to fuck people up on his stream every single day and pulls more viewers than tf2 will ever pull as a collective whole on any given day
adjusting behavior to attract competition is absolutely pointless, because the point of competition is to be competitive, not to have a jolly good laugh with welcoming, nice players. that's why games like csgo and dota, with many many many more toxic players are infinitely more popular. because it's competition, not a christmas party. this sort of "toxic" behavior happens in real sports too, to a higher degree. i can almost bet the reason why moe is so intense and ragey is because he played semi-pro soccer or whatever he did. that's how shit works in real sports. it's wayyyy more intense and if you can't stand the heat you don't play. watch one game of the nba and hopefully you'll understand. and to make this whole idea even more pointless, tf2 is not at all a toxic game.
dude it entirely depends on the size of your hand and where you put your fingers
deathadder is technically designed to be a palm grip mouse but it feels like a foreign object in my hands, and maybe for others too because ive seen people trying to claw it (seriously razer make a better shape we're humans with five fingers)
g400 has a nice palm grip where i can tuck my pinky in the groove on the right but the LOD is too high for me
zowie ec1 evo is a really big palm grip mouse, almost ime 3.0 size so if you have big hands its basically impossible that the mouse can be uncomfortable for you
same with the zowie ec2 evo only it's small so if you have small hands you can palm it
you can make a "palm grip mouse" out of any mouse depending on where you put your fingers. my favorites are the ec series from zowie as far as grip goes. they're true ergonomic mice to me.
manaAvastMana you look like a young Jackie Chan.Much better being Jackie Chan instead of his son.

honestly that thing with people not wanting to play invite teams @gxl was ridiculous. Why even play a game in a competitive format if you don't want to be the best. It makes no sense to me, however i'm really competitive and I don't see my self stopping till i've played at my very best. Once I get there , I don't know what my end game will be. Who knows maybe there will be nothing at the top level, it will be empty and there will be nothing more to learn. However for myself, and many others the journey to the top and to play as best as possible is what keeps us here.
Thanks for the inspiration. gg
It's because the game is competitive but there's no monetary incentive to keep it afloat. So, like I said before, competitive TF2 is becoming more of just an idea, because it's not funded by anything big and thus doesn't have as much competition. Working your way up to that level without some sort of reason other than to be the best is hard for some people. Those players who wanted pug teams seriously just like the idea of competitive TF2. It's sort of like pubbing to them, just more organized and focused on the aspects they enjoy. But absolutely, your mindset is the one competitive tf2 needs and the journey all top players want to see other players taking. Thanks, I'm happy to have inspired anyone, and if you'd like you can add me and feel free to ask me questions
WithADanceNumber@clckwrkFeel free to invite me to some invite pugs or whatever some time =)
Are you done as well? If so, man its sad seeing so much top talent leaving the scene. However, I know there are players out there who will get to that level and we will continue to have top level tf2 because we're still playing this damn game just because it's fun.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm done. I mean, I've basically been done since before GXL. I barely ever play and really just barely carried out my scrimming responsibilities. The game doesn't do it for me much anymore and a lot of the reason is competition. It just feels like there's no incentive from most people to get better and reach the top. I think this has always been a small hiccup in the TF2 community, at least since several seasons ago. We ran into the same problem in the GXL thread, where on the second day of the event (the GXL tournament), some people were unhappy that top teams would be playing in it and would have preferred pugs to be made. That's because there are two contrasting ideas in this game. There are those who want to treat it like it's counter-strike (the way many top players would prefer) and those who treat it like it's high/drunk smash bros in your friends basement. At that same event, iBP won the CEVO event, and C9 won the GXL event. And I doubt there was much community pressure to get iBP and C9 and Denial or whoever else was there to not compete with their starting 6. It's just the way this game is.
Saltysally1if everyone took the time they spent debating whether or not the game was dying and actively used it to advertise or introduce new players to competitive tf2 the community would probably be competing with csgo for the 3rd largest modern esport.
also, no. First of all that's not our jobs to campaign competitive TF2. It's ridiculous. Secondly the 6s version of the game is very different from a pubbing perspective. I mean, maybe if we got the best marketers in the entire game to slave away at trying to sell this game, maybe it would grow a lot. But that's no one's responsibility and it's asking a lot. It certainly doesn't take 10 minutes to get people interested. And only 1 of those 3 would be sticking with it, anyway.
Also I'm gonna keep going on this rant because I think it's kind of insulting. You're almost implying there aren't people who have tried to introduce new people and advertise competitive TF2. All the work that's gone into streams, everything extv has done with competitive TF2, enigma creating this forum, the moderators and other web developers that maintain it. All of that is for this very reason, to not only create a hub for existing players, but to create a place for new players to go. This idea isn't a sandbox game where I can pull "3 people waiting to play comp game" out of my resources bag and spawn them. It takes time. It's also not a wikipedia advertisement about donating $3.
This is the worst thread. You're acting like "TF2 has been dead for x years." It really hasn't been. Has it been exploding with growth? Absolutely not, but the difference is it's had an NA LAN, and it's attracted the same competition season after season. We even had a long conversation about this at i52 on Pirate Radio or whatever they're called these days. Fully Charged? Regardless we talked about how important the ESEA LAN was to fostering competition, and how bleak European TF2 looked because there was no consistent LAN throughout the year. The past ETF2L season was just a mishmosh of players because no one plays during those months. Competitive TF2 will certainly always be there, in the sense that the idea of Dominos will always exist. It's just not regularly played or very popular at all. And that's fine, but the chances of seeing this game stagnate the way it has been over the past few seasons (which is ideal at this point) are slim to none. I just seriously think a lot of you are being overly optimistic. TF2 is a great game, but I don't think scrims and pugs will be as common or fun as the number of players dwindles. I realize you're all just being optimistic, but it's not wrong to be sentimental about something. The game's slipping through our fingers :/
ANYWAY
Thanks for all your help, Lange. You're one of the first people I became friends with in this community and you grew a ridiculous amount from the old Vicious Gaming days. I extend this thanks to everyone else I've played this game with - basically anyone who played invite pugs, all my previous teams, the VG people, and all the br0s. And Mixup. Despite all the trash talk between us over the years and the tension at LAN events, it really was fun playing against you guys. You're all super talented and I'm looking forward to seeing you around a different game (Overwatch? ;) ). And I want to thank tyrone for picking me up, and allowing an immature rager to grow up a little bit and ultimately compete internationally. It's definitely a chance I may not have gotten if I started in a different game.
Feel free to invite me to some invite pugs or whatever some time =)
SpannzerComangliaWhat more can he honestly say other than "it's out of my hands"?Spannzer16jacobjDon't want to necro, but is anyone else who preordered annoyed or doubting their decision? It seems like bst rarely updates, and it was supposed to go out early November...Some stuff happened with the shipping that's out of bst's hands, so I don't care about the wait. The lack of updates from bst is kind of annoying, but honestly I couldn't care less. It's out of his hands, the most he can do is shrug and repeat that. People need to learn some patience, delays happen :>
IDK I'm pretty annoyed not that I haven't received the mice or anything but that their hasn't been anything said in over 2 weeks.
I've even opened a support ticket about a week ago as just inquiry on what was going on. No, response. Ninox and bst have the least amount of customer service I've ever had to deal with...
The point is he can simply say that with a little more flavor and it's worth more than saying nothing. Really now, you can't convince you earnestly believe a total lack of communication is equal to putting the time in to say something or anything. The point of customer service is to make the customer feel secure even if it's sugar-coating and spicing up a sentence that really only says "it's out of my hands." "I'm sorry, but an issue has occurred with the processing and for now I'm simply playing the waiting game. I'll be sure to send out an update when possible! Thanks for your purchase!"
This is high school stuff
EDIT: war and I have it on lock
