downpourdrshdwpuppetI've been playing the single player and it is probably the best single player cod since 4. For the first time in 8 years, they managed to make a single player where I feel like I am playing more than a shooting gallery on tracks.(
sorry but someone has said this of every CoD since MW1 came out lol, it honestly doesnt mean anything anymore
People said BLOPs 2 had an amazing story and it really didnt. same thing with AW.
blops 2 and AW were both pretty garbage in terms of story.
At least in BO3 there are "spells" and most areas have several different ways you can complete them. Sure, they all boil down to shooting people, but there are normally 2-3 different paths through a room, each different. Sniping is pretty viable for most of the campaign, but some of the powerups reward getting in the enemy's face and using a mixture of melee and close range guns to kill them. Is it as varied in choice and strategy as other games? Hell no, but for a call of duty its quite good.
I also said literally nothing about the story, now that I have completed the story however, I do like it. It's not amazing, and it gets... weird, but its a pretty big departure from standard COD fare, which is what I am, at the end of the day, applauding in this game. This is the first time since COD4 that I feel substantial and interesting improvements and changes have been made to the franchise, and I hope Treyarch continue that trend into the future.
I like that your character has more customization potential, I like that I can choose a loadout before a mission instead of relying on whatever the dev thinks I should be using, I like the power ups and spells I can use and I like that there are zero (or very very few) quick time events.
