I'd be down! I go to school a few blocks from there.

IcyWindI remember reading on reddit a few weeks back something about it being all ages until a certain time or something like that, did they get rid of that?

Probably they'd rather have the whole thing be 21+ rather than have a restricted area for minors? I'm not sure when they changed that. I could see them having some all-ages events though. From their FB page looks like they've had a few events already.

I also love Opera! I've included recordings without vocals, since you may find them distracting.

Giacomo Puccini - "Musetta's Waltz" from "La Boheme"

And some Chinese orchestral/solo pieces. These works tend to be more descriptive or tell a story.

Chen Gang and He Zhanhao - "The Butterfly Lovers' Concerto" [A little information of the story of the piece.]

Yin Chengzong and Chu Wanghua - "Yellow River Piano Concerto"

Mostly Cantonese. For some reason I have difficulty speaking and reading it fluently, but I can understand it perfectly fine. Same with Mandarin.

#33 How long have you been around? in Off Topic

I got into it mid-late 2013 I think. I learned of Comp TF2 from two friends who had played in UGC I think around the time of Season 6/early 2012. They encouraged me to try the format, it looked very intimidating back then. As for beginning to play TF2, I think I started late 2011 when I was introduced to it through a 3D modeling class assignment.

Between that time and the time I started playing, I watched a few games and videos but the information never really stuck or I didn't understand the concept too well. UGC S11 rolls around and my friends decided to make a HL and 6's team, and I joined a different one for a short period of time to get a taste [and got cut that same season and went on to another team!]. Met Emkay who kind of explained some nuances of the game that were never too clear to me. Did one Open scrim, got wrecked badly and embarrassed myself. Played on and off for my teams, did a few mixes here and there but I never really did well. Came to TF.TV to read and learn things, met some cool people.

Stopped playing TF2 mid-July of this year to try and get through my last year in my BFA classes with minimal distractions. Also got totally burnt out helping run the tVr events.

#25 Starting a Good Exercise Routine? in Off Topic
iridescentFUZZLike other people have said, you should really look into your back issue(s) first. You say you have cramps; does this happen when inhaling deeply after having done something strenuous?

I have them sometimes, they've been less frequent now. When I did have them more often usually that would be from moving from a resting position I've been in for a long time [sitting for hours, lying down] to standing.

Thank you for all these responses guys! I'll be taking a look at all the links soon.

Admittedly this got more complex than I expected, but I'll do a good read through everything.

pine_beetleMain thing is whatever you do you need to be having fun, if hot woman are there is an added benefit.

I'd rather have hot men to look at, but I'm not picky when it comes to either gender. Win-win!

loljkRunning is excellent for losing weight and improving your mental health. Start out small, even half a mile will get your heart racing and your metabolism sped up. Finding a nice trail to run helps as well, doing laps works but its nice to look at different things as you go. If you are so heavy that you have knee and ankle problems you should first use an elliptical because the one downside of running is that it is high impact which does put stress on your ankles and knees especially. As you keep running you can gradually increase the distance as you feel comfortable. The great thing about running is that you require no real equipment or gym memberships, and you can virtually do it any time of the day or week. I highly recommend running every other day to give your bones and muscles time to recuperate because you do burn a lot of stored up nutrients when you run. TrickIf you could give a little more information as to what you have at your disposal, I think that you will be able to get a more helpful response. Running isn't as stellar an idea if you already have low-back issues/instability. If you're like me, and despise distance running, then there are other (more fun) ways to keep in shape year round. If you're like 99% of humans, and want to look better naked, there are some programs I can recommend that come with pictures/videos of all exercises, etc. Are you planning on joining a gym?

Sounds like elliptical or one of those stationary bikes would be good. My back isn't as bad as it was before, but sometimes it cramps up very suddenly and it's quite painful. No ankle or knee problems luckily.

I do have a gym at my university, it's just I'd need to make time to drive out to campus [Usually I don't get there until 6pm, I have late classes]. That's why I'm wondering what's an easy thing to do at home or around my neighborhood.

Thanks for all the replies so far!

#1 Starting a Good Exercise Routine? in Off Topic

So awhile back I posted about needing a pick-me-up and a lot of people suggested hitting the gym or general exercise. I spend most of my days either in front of the computer working at home or at the art labs so I'm sitting, not gaming but usually working on my BFA assignments. It's also been bad for my back and the eye strain, and I've gained some of weight.

If possible, do you have any suggestions for a starting workout, preferably something that can be done without going to the gym? I find that it's always hardest to start off on a new activity. [I've done a bit of yoga in the past, but that was more of a stress reliever than what I felt was a weight-loss routine.] To give an idea of a goal, I'm looking to get to and maintain a healthy weight really. Any other tips or experiences are great. Thanks guys!

#35 Interests? in Off Topic

I'm really interested in the arts, I'm an Animation-Illustration major so I can possibly work in movies, TV shows/cartoons, videogames, product design, comic books, etc. The fine arts and classic illustration are also things I love and done a bit of self study on.

Aside from my academics I also enjoy film history, entomology, aquariums and my fish, classical violin [did that for 12 years before I went to college], cosplay, selling my art at conventions, videogames sometimes, playing with dogs, and concerts.

#72 TF2GAMES in The Dumpster
KuferlomniCan we get a list of people that are a part of your team? We're not a big community, we like things to be a bit more personal. Who are you guys? Let us get to know you, support you and give feedback to you. This exactly. It's not about you having made projects in the past. If you have the ability to do your work, nice. But not listing the team and just stating that you got one won't be enough to satisfy and make us believing you

It also helps us put a name and face [sort of] to the project. We'd like to know the more human side of things I guess, we're quite a close-knit community so knowing who's helping you guys out definitely puts our mind at ease. Without something visual it's hard to get a grasp of the project with just some text. If you guys have worked on past projects even if they're not TF2-related they do give a good impression that you've produced something to fruition before.

There's all these people obviously interested in what you have to offer, why not reveal more to your potential customers?

Also doubling as my Inktober challenge piece for today.

I also made a quick video of the lion piece when I was fooling around with a new timelapse app. Condensed about 45 minutes down into 1m 30s.
