TwitchI visited justin.tv only a few times nearing the end of its life, all I saw on it besides things like live chats was restreaming of tv shows and movies. I can't imagine that's very legal, did that have anything to do with the site's extinction?
that was a huge part of it from what i understand
sad to see this site go though, good company behind it
dashner is awesome, with his help i52 will be the best insomnia LAN so far for us. help him out, he is extremely dedicated to tf2 and our fantastic community.
MasterKuniflameThat's not bad user experience... nor is it unnecessary... it's common practice.
Another solution may be to link twitch accounts to tftv accounts but that might be more difficult than it sounds.
My point is that you'd have to set up an OAuth system on tf.tv, have people log into their twitch accounts even if they're already logged into twitch (in order to authenticate them through our third party application), and store their OAuth token in the database, all for the net effect of making it one less click to follow a streamer?
In my opinion, the tf.tv streaming system would need to provide a larger incentive for people to connect with their twitch credentials to make such a system worth it. There are a lot of interesting things you can do once you authenticate with a user.
oauth isn't as bad as you're making it out to be in terms of implementation. most of the code is already there for big languages.

from my experiences with the twitch API this is fairly easy with an option in the TFTV settings page to "connect to twitch."
SpewntheSpoonFor real though,
the new layout and smooths look really good. Like really, really good.
Actually the fonts are wrong and totally not intended on the overlays because I forgot to have dashner install them. x_x
the sfm stuff is amazing though
for esea stvs are available on the match page (ex: http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=3651053). for cevo i'm not sure. for special events like the i52 qualifiers or the invitational hit up enigma for those.
neekonot sure if its just me but match link is 404'd
Bmcs777if we have to link to Google+ i am gonna cry.
google themselves said that they are removing forced g+ integration with youtube so i think they finally get that it was a shitty awful service that nobody wanted.
i want to remain positive and say that this will only help make twitch a better service since they are a great company, but a part of me worries slightly.
WithADanceNumberI kinda was expecting london + getawhale.. what happened?
miscommunication from several parties.
sorry about all that guys, this match was supposed to have different casters but i screwed up. i'll try to not let this happen in the future and again i want to apologize for an incident that is pretty much my fault.
sorry guys they're trying to get servers switched or something.
i used to use a qck+ but i switched to a puretrak talent and I love it much more, very well made mousepad.
preordered it when it was announced, really enjoyed it. listen to it if you liked relativity 1-3.
