I'm not really sure what's going on with the 1.2 issues because it's also working for me. Nothing much really changed between 1.1 and 1.2.
I'll look at the red tape when I get some time, should be an easy fix.
GoofyGorillaIn all honesty people have complained about casual replacing quickplay but it really isn't that bad.
people are just upset because it's so much not at all harder to find their favorite hightower servers
I think that finally the Tomislav and Minigun have the same relationship that the Direct Hit and Rocket Launcher have, and that's a wonderful thing.
Clearly the BB, Natascha, and Huo Long need some serious work though.
...MYM restricts certain convars...
Great as always Phi, literally my favorite map dev.
GazWell I dunno about you but for me the guy in the video doesn't really looks like he feels confident in what they are doing.
Jeff Kaplan is pretty socially inept honestly but at least he's also brutally honest and transparent about the development process.
SpaceCadetTo follow-up on the 3rd person view or free camera view. Lets say a caster is using the free floating camera view, can the caster still see the names of the players as they run around or do you just see health bars and colors?
By default you can't see names or health bars iirc (can't remember if Valve's outlines and status apply to spectators), but that's why things like StatusSpec exist. Not to mention StatusSpec gives you a huge deal of customizability, so you can make the names more pronounced or have stats fade based on distance.
novvaI mean yeah. But it's currently impossible to force a console command into tf2 (such as playdemo) while it's running. All you do is run the setup, then right click on a demo and hit "Open Demo in TF2".
Is it? I'm fairly certain you could do it with a plugin.
With a game like TF2 6s there's just so much going on at once that you actually need casters to have dedicated roles - not just who talks more or who's shoutcasting, but who's actually even talking about what. With SC2 casters can both slip into shoutcasting roles and move about pretty flexibly but in TF2 for a good production you need them both to focus on different things and have the support chime in whenever it's relevant (and he should have the ability to easily chime in if he determines that it is, indeed, important, something that doesn't happen much in other games because both casters can cast any unexpected plays).
tl;dr agreed

i can't even figure this one out
does he think he made overwatch or something? like wtf
Late to the party is an understatement.
SmytherJesus christ, really? I get that TF2 is free, but it's old. I would've thought TF2 would mostly the same 20-something-year-olds that were playing it 5-10 years ago like CS 1.6/source. Valve started work on this game before these kids' fathers started work on them.
Welcome to 2016. Half of those 20-somethings have either moved on or are too busy with life to play often, and there's been a huge influx of kids drawn to the fact that it's free to play/cheap and has funny hats. Same as League, Dota, CSGO, Garry's Mod...
Also, this survey was also posted to r/tf2, which has a pretty young demographic. If it was posted elsewhere the results would be different.
Looks like ClearType is off. There should be an entry about it in the sidebar for Display settings in the Control Panel.
CarnNope, tried that out, too.
Quick edit: I just re-installed 1.1, and the install works with that version.
Huh. Gunna be honest I didn't actually test 1.2 before pushing it, let me try it out.
