My mom took some tf2 lessons from me and she had to practice looking around and walking at the same time. Like when she walked up to a corner, she would have to stop, then turn, then continue
She really likes hearing me talk about the game and asks lots of questions but she still refuses to let me play it sometimes, even though she says the analogy to sports practice is a good one
My dad likes to cover my eyes and have me play by the force, and always shit talks me when he stands behind me to prepare me for an audience. He seems cool sometimes but I saw him tear my brothers computer out from under his desk without unplugging anything, haul it to the basement, and then destroy it with a splitting maul, so I guess I'm walking on real thin ice

My sister always mentions to random people that I have 5k hours in tf2, so i'll be just chillin with someone and they met my sister and they mention it. I'm kind of ashamed of it somehow, like i dont want the numbers of hours of tf2 i have to be part of my identity.
I understand how people think lots of hours in a game is a bad thing, like tf2 and videogames have had a huge negative impact on my social anxiety.

"tf2 is for 10 year old bronies, cs go is the real mans game'
'tf2 takes no skill'
Also dad thought I was watching porn, when in reality it was just guys in my mumble making sex noises ;/
and when I'm watching porn, he assumes I'm playing tf2 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

-protomy coworker always talks to me about tf2 (he doesn't know I play) and brags about his 700 hours in the game and how good he is at demoknight. little does he know he's talking to someone with 6k hours that is much better than him at the game hahaha. I think I'm gonna tell him soon
sophomore year in my computer programming class they were playing 1.5 or 1.6 and this really obnoxious classmate (who was better than everyone else slightly) was using the awp and shit talking like mad each round. i was playing a flash game with a friend but I decided to load it up and absolutely wrecked him with the scout. every round I knew where he was going to go because ez pub movement/prediction, so I killed him then purposely died to everybody else.
after a few rounds he looked at my name, stood up and walked by every computer looking for it, whatever dumb name I used. i just alt tabbed, hid the taskbar and got back into the flash game with my friend. he was pretty upset.

i got confronted by my parents recently who watched a special on 60 minutes (canadian tv show owl's 40) about the recent international event and how this vancouver guy who was on the winning team won millions of dollars yet I got a cheque from esea that had '1st place' written on it and it was only $100. i explained the difference between dota 2, tf2, and esea divisions
the next day me and my mom went down to best buy and after an hour i found her in the xbox game section looking around. i didnt say anything but i 100% believe she was looking for dota 2 there.

So back in 10th grade when I was first introduced to comp by a friend of mine and he said he played in a team my first question to him was
"Do you play for BLU or RED?"
It made more sense at the time

My mum was incredibly scared when I told her that the reason I was late for dinner was because I was playing video games with a bunch of Romanians.
Trying to explain to my dad why I kept playing mge was also a fun conversation.

This one time I was with my friends and one of them asked this csgo addict bulky guy how many hours has he got in cs:go. He said close to a thousand. Everyone started laughing and kept saying how big of a no-life you gotta be to have 1k hours in a video-game. And I just sat there thinking about my 3k hours of tf2 I had at that time. Haven't spoken about it. Ever.
