It was ok, needs some gameplay and balancing tweaks before I can take it seriously
valve is probably going to be stubborn as fuck when it comes to weapon unlocks and class limits but I know they are willing to listen to the community
A few things I can think of after playing for an hour
- The beginning of the round seems awkward, valve wants to limit class rollouts for some reason it seems
- Need some kind of class limits, playing against 6 heavys or scouts etc. isnt going to be fun and balanced
- Servers feel choppy and laggy (to be expected obv)
- The Sandman / Cleaver combo is so hilariously broken and needs a complete rework, running two sandman scouts being able to stun an enemy medic is absolutely brutal

Was fun trying out the Crit-a-Cola in a semi-competitive setting. That weapon is just disgusting. Also please Valve bring in Product instead of Viaduct.

Won rounds by running a team of widowmaker engies, also critacola baby face was OP. If they nerf some unlocks and add class limits its got a lot of potential.
really wish phong and worldlights were not forced, also i think zoom_sensitivity_ratio was locked to 1 which fucks up my sniping a lot. overall i just wish they didn't lock so many commands...
Lots of people with lft iron in their name, In the 3 I played both teams played 2 scouts 2 soldiers 1 demo and 1 medic and they were all randoms. The knowledge already picked up by these random players is really exciting to me.

zoom_sensitivity_ratio is set to 1 and you can't change it
-Queue time was amazingly fast. That plus the fact they needed to increase server capacity bodes well for matchmaking.
-Rollouts feel awkward with the closed door and walking around and the round-start fullscreen thing. Would feel less weird if the door time was the same between rounds... I actually think the longer time is better in case you get a shit spawn (like right side on Granary), but really freezetime + explosive jumps feel more controllable since you don't get everyone clustering at the door holding W.
-Friend hosting a party at one point got put in an empty server alone immediately after clicking the queue button, while the rest of us got an error along the lines of "the game has ended," and all of us remained in the party screen with the host still listed. Host came straight back to party screen himself after leaving server.
-Should have DPM instead of flat damage, as it's more meaningful. Total time played would be another good stat to have alongside it. Probably deaths as well, even if only visible to yourself (I'm assuming Valve doesn't like the idea of displaying that to everyone since they never have), so people can use it to help themselves improve.

so many noobs in comp, they think that it's a pub or something...
Played with a squad of 6 both with normal classes and some offclassing. Was still fun and some ranked up. Class limits are definitely needed.
Tried soloing after everyone got burned out and I pocketed 3-4 soldiers as med and they couldn't frag while we had one scout who was doing nothing but fragging and doubled my points while I was playing med. Some dude left part way through and all effort was lost. Not solo queuing anymore.
Edit: Got into games pretty fast, though for some reason my cfgs were working when playing with a group (I wasn't the group leader) and they were shut off when playing alone.

Two of the matches I played in were 5v6. No idea why it let people on my team trying to grief/troll do that.

the countdown to begin the game starts as soon as one person is able to ready up, and you're able to ready up before all 12 are in server
idea for a fix(?): dont let players ready up until 12 join, let there be some finite time interval allowing players to join (and end the game if there arent 12 in the server, akin to csgos system)
this was really fun and seeing players that are clearly new to the game be somewhat familiar with standard loadouts is encouraging

i would like to point out on monday there were ~60 Virginia servers, today there were 400 and 4000 worldwide.

gru + whip is a viable strat for running heavy to mid imo, some really interesting strats to mid beyond the meme class spreads blossom when you take away weapon locks. Overall appreciating the atmosphere of it, 6 manning is the most fun I've had in this video game in a long time.
Dunno if it's widely known yet, but you can get outside before the doors close during the 10 sec countdown since you can still move around (bringing up the scoreboard will hide the animation).
