What is your attitude towards death? Are you scared of dying or does the thought not bother you? If you were told you have just a few months left to live, would it considerably change things?

For the record, I am doing absolutely fine and am just genuinely curious about what people think

Simply, everyone dies. The sooner you can accept that the sooner you can free yourself from fear and anxiety related to death. I sometimes feel like if someone close to me died, provided they had lived a full and long life I could be okay with it. That's the best we can hope for, right? Although sometimes it still scares me of course.

it makes life meaningful, to worry about it outside of the context of not destroying your body is in my mind completely illogical because youre just gonna make yourself miserable waiting.

if you let the fear of death (or anything else) consume you, sure you may be alive, but you're not living.

if stories went on forever they would inevitably be shit and pointless, so why shouldn't that apply to your life

We don't know when we will die; could be today, tomorrow, next week or next year. Better to live each day as if it's your last, and hope to live on - instead of feeling scared or miserable

Ive often pondered abt this and like how would they feel at my funeral knowing they could have said yes to playing league the night before

I was hit by a truck when I was little and was comatosed for a week. Almost lost a leg. Didn't. I would say I really do not care when I die as long as it's not painful or drawn out. I fear the pain not the thing itself.

As someone who doesn't believe in an afterlife, death does scare me. I hope that the older I get the more I can reconcile with that, but I suppose once you die it's all irrelevant since you can't feel scared or sad - it's the fear leading up to death that causes our anxiety. Am I sad that I probably won't see my grandchildren marry or have their own kids? Yeah, I am, but not everyone has the luck to live a long and healthy life. Every now and then I will reorient my life and think about if I died tomorrow, would I be happy with who I am and what I've done? Living this way has made me happier and reconcile with death in a much less fearful way.
