P-bodyThe icon-only templates for YouTube/Steam/Twitch are done now.
many thanks...
There seems to be something wrong with the youtube template page tho, both are showing icons only
(btw, this is a pet peeve of mine, but is there any way possible the default would be with the icon only? Like instead of the variable Icon=yes at the end you change that to the text=yes, so the default is icon only) sry for being picky

Fixed and fixed. Icons are now default.
Template pages are a bit funny; I think they are cached, so when self-referencing the template in the template page, weird things can happen. Resaving the page usually fixes it. But I assure you it works just fine (tested on previews)

Agreed this thread should not be the place to discuss edits to a wiki. Wiki's have that functionality built in.

I will look into it. Also will finish user rights for mods today and add a few anti spam measures since we just had our fist link spammer attack a few minutes ago (YAY)

I'm not much of an IRC person but I think yeah a project of this kind needs one.
What do you think it's the best network?
AndKennethAgreed this thread should not be the place to discuss edits to a wiki. Wiki's have that functionality built in.
I'm just posting the important updates to the wiki, but yeah all the other discussion on edits should be done inside the wiki.

Went through all the pages in the wiki.
Here's a list with all the really incomplete / blank ones.
http://comp.tf/wiki/Missing_content
Added suggestions on what to do with them as well.
Keep in mind there's a lot more pages that haven't been created yet, you can also start helping by feeling those gaps, but if you feel a little lost just start helping us with these.

Created a map template

You can see it in use here

The mod team was attributed custom rights on the wiki. You can now block users, delete pages, undelete, rollback edits, also protect pages and edit protected pages

Re-organized our to-do list, should now be much more self-explanatory and with the current templates linked.
If you are not sure where to start editing and adding content, start here

If you need help with anything just post here or add me.

Started creating team pages
http://comp.tf/wiki/Epsilon_eSports
http://comp.tf/wiki/Zaibatsu
http://comp.tf/wiki/Broder
You too can help, just use this template http://comp.tf/wiki/Template:Team_infobox and everything is very intuitive and easy. Image thumbnails are still not working properly but don't worry Im working to fix it.
We still need a lot of team pages created, help out by creating the most important teams in the different competitions around.

As a starting phase I created the entire epsilon esports team roster on the wiki...
Counting on more community collaboration to at least cover all the prem / invite rosters.
http://comp.tf/wiki/Epsilon_eSports
http://comp.tf/wiki/Numlocked
http://comp.tf/wiki/KnOxXx
http://comp.tf/wiki/Mike
http://comp.tf/wiki/GeaR
http://comp.tf/wiki/BasH
http://comp.tf/wiki/Schocky
It is very easy to do so, just use the already made template here for players http://comp.tf/wiki/Template:Player_infobox
or this one for teams
http://comp.tf/wiki/Template:Team_infobox
Remember to follow our editing guidelines

Alright, in general, what should we do with sponsors and teams that use the same roster? Do we put Chess Club and Tri hards on the same page? Do we put HRG season 10 on the same page as HRG now?

The site suffered some serious spam attacks today, so I took so severe measures as well. Installed 3 different anti spam plugins, one blacklist for ips and words, 1 for detecting automated scripts and another one that introduced captchas when a new page is created or a current page is edited to introduce an URL only (these URLs have whitelists tho and I have added a small list of websites to the trusted list http://comp.tf/wiki/MediaWiki:Captcha-addurl-whitelist) this just means you won't be asked for captcha when editing with these links, you can still post other links, but you will have to enter a captcha.
Captchas will only appear to non registered/loged in users or users with no confirmed email address. If you are registered on the site and have confirmed your email address you shouldn't have to worry about captchas.
These anti spam measures should prevent massive attacks like the ones from today.

On team pages we should talk about current teams, (Ex: on HRG page we should talk mainly about current HRG)
Not sure then if the best course of action is having a section on that same page to mention previous teams or if we should have a dedicated page for that organization with the various teams. Well do as you wish, users will eventually debate it out and we will figure the best way. I don't think you should worry much about that for now tho, since we are still missing most of current invite teams and players yet
Hope you all guys can keep contributing. Still trying to solve the auto thumbnail bug

So the site is down. Once it comes back up, can we get more community involvement? Seriously, it's not hard to make a page, for a team for example, go to the esea page for the team and look at their past history, etc. Just fill out the box and write a little blurb about the team.

Exactly, the first days were great but we really need to keep the momentum going and get more people involved. Might go ahead with my idea of sponsoring a 6v6 newbie cup.
The site is down and Im talking to my host currently, I have almost reached the limit, if I get more problems Im gonna change host

A very special page reminding valve about the beta. Remind them how "balanced" this game is. Remind them that comp TF2 is ahead of them in terms of balancing. History seems to be repeating itself.
lol valve time. (yes I'm just now getting this)
I live up to my username :3

I signed up to the 768 MB Frankurt offer in this post: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/9986/inception-hosting-5-locations-uk-nl-de-miami-phoenix-usa-10-offers-first-2gb-xen-on-let
The 512 MB one would be fine for a website I expect.
It's good value for what you get, although the routing isn't great at DC-Accelerated / Frankfurt and the ram is too low to use as a TF2 server.
Inception Hosting are consistently highly ranked at Low End Box.

I will try to implement GD library for automatic thumbnail generation, it's an alternative to imagemagick that allows me to avoid the host change, if everything goes right it should be working today/tomorrow
