I played with JW for the last several weeks on a main team before we separated with him.
very very strong DM for main, he comms as much as I'd want a pocket scout to, but there are a few issues.
he had an issue with tunnel vision and chasing frags that put his med (me) in danger when we played.
he struggles with functioning when comms get cluttered which is somewhat understandable, but lost his cool far too easily when things got heated.
other than that, he was a solid teammate and would definitely work ok with a team playing main, as long as he can work on the tunnel vision he'll do well

His rep is very overrated. He did not mention any religion any time during scrims unless I cursed. He fucking rolled every scout in every match. He was averaging like 40 kills per game.

Has always been super nice to me, leading me to believe he probably does not hate gay or trans people. Has also always been solid and fun to play with in every pug I've played with him, even when the pugs are bad.

I'm like 90% sure the past homophobia/transphobia/anti semitism is a thing of the past now. In my experiences with him, he has reliably good dm, main calls and doesn't emo out even when I know most people would. If anything, his calls are a little basic and at times wrong, but it happens.

As for the whole overly religious brainwashed 13 year old rep, I'd say this is also largely a thing of the past. The only time I've ever seen him mention it is when we were both ringing for a dreadfully transphobic and occasionally racist team, he just spoke in bible quotes or something and shut it down. I don't really know what he was talking about but it seemed pretty based.

Overall I'd if nothing else, give him a chance and look past his old rep. If you don't like him now, either for personality or gameplay, that's fair. But he absolutely does deserve a chance with most people, even ones he's previously wronged because I do get a legitimate sense of reform and growth from him that you don't see often, but welcome whenever it does happen.

proved himself this season, would be a great asset to any group of players looking to improve or a great start to a strong core

Very very good mechanics, I think if he got some 1 on 1 map reviews with a mentor to get his positioning up to speed he'd be mid adv easy.

the tables show he just played on a mid main team but advanced is very realistic and itd be worth giving him a shot.
