Can someone explain to me why RGL unbans hackers and known pedophiles like Akemi?
I'm currently creating an advanced team for this upcoming season. Had a medic tryout (Rene) with a pending ban for telling another player to kill himself in private discord dm's. Our team had assumed that his ban would get removed since Rene was already banned for about more than a year with no other altercations since then. RGL claims that its decision is final and that it isn't just one person in charge of appeals/bans. While at the same time, they unban hackers and pedophiles like Akemi who just so happens to be playing on a team with zoomxze whose on the report team. That just seems super fuckin sus and unfair, and while I tried reaching out to other admins for a second opinion they were all vague as hell and provided no help or explanation as to why they had to keep Rene banned.
how is rgl letting this guy play in their league while people who have served their bans out without any issues get denied from playing?
RGL loves this tho and allows them to play:

rgl r pretty selective when it comes to hate speech but pedos and groomers and all the like, past and present that are still playing are fair game ig

there comes a point where the "we only look at user submitted reports" excuse doesn't work anymore, and this is probably it

Isn't the community consensus repeat cheating offenders should be perma'd? Why hasn't that been implemented?
For the pedos and groomers thing, I think the biggest problem is people do not report them, and as much as some people are well known to be cringe in the community, expecting rgl to just know and take action when no one has reported it is unreasonable imo and could have some disastrous consequences. Like looking at akemi's profile, they don't have the ban for player conduct so most likely that info wasn't reported to rgl. Just report them if you actually have evidence and want anything to get done.

This is and has always been the case with cheating bans.

This is true. Whenever people complained about X player while I was a head admin I would check the reports channels and there would be zero reports on them a solid 75% of the time, the other 25% of the time they were banned within a week or two of complaining.

At least from my experience, this wasn't the case. It took 3 months after I submitted a report against recess for him to get banned for cheating. Most of our division was suspicious of him at the time, and I talked to multiple other people who also claimed to have submitted their own reports. He also stopped playing RGL at the end of that season (probably because he knew he was under investigation), so it wasn't because any new evidence appeared since that time, either.

Cheating reports and Misconduct reports (what mopsy was referring to) have different submission forms and are viewed by different people. Misconduct reports are/were viewed weekly by Head Admins and/or the RC, cheating reports do not necessarily have a scheduled system for viewing. The AC team of RGL, during the time I was an admin was manned by one dude with a full-time job who did 90% of the work. The other 10% was extremely blatant cheaters in AM where the work was offloaded to someone, not on the AC team, but trusted enough to go through the demo to gather the clips for archival reasons. That is why cheating bans seemingly take forever to come out, but I'd rather have something than nothing at all.
I will note, that I stepped down from being a head admin about one and a half years ago, so systems probably have changed and my info could be outdated.

Clarifying this, the people given the 'blatant' cases were not offloaded to grab clips for the archive. They already had evidence gathered, and bans internally finalized. They were given to those that were going through AC trial periods/training.
