there needs to be a rule where you’re only allowed to make these threads if you yourself havent said this shit in a game before. bear needs to realize that not everyone here is 3000 years old and id say a good portion of the people playing rn are in college and hs so theyre GOING to say shit like this. it will never stop unless this game gets picked up and people start making an actual salary instead of it being a hobby (which that chance is slim to none but besides my point).

it sucks that the person who started this thread has apparently been one of the worst offenders in the past, kinda puts the whole motivation for posting into question. but at the end of the day the whole point of the rule is to help keep people who aren't capable of "just growing thicker skin" for whatever reason from being driven away. people should be able to play their favorite game without worrying if someone is gonna try to fuck with them. or at least knowing they'll face consequences for doing so
Everyone has filters they use around different groups of people. In a game where you know everyone, obviously you can be more comfortable saying whatever. But if you're getting reported, you're clearly making someone else uncomfortable. Groups such as PUGHub or RGL can have their own code of conduct rules to make people feel more comfortable, Twitch can have their own ToS, but if "retard" gets banned, people will just say schizo. If that gets banned, people will just say autismo. If that gets banned, people will start coining new terms like "he's clinical" or "he's neuro" or something. You can either chase down every new term and keep banning them all, or pick and choose your battles and just have a list of the most offensive ones that shouldn't be used.
I'm not including scenarios where maybe there's a single person on your team using a word you don't like and you can privately speak to them, I'm thinking more about general group settings.
