so what exactly is the point of the four week season if the convoluted playoffs structure means the season takes eight weeks anyway

I think it's more about having the lower/upper invite teams play closer matches against their peers. Will be pretty funny if the final seeding for invite ends up being the exact same as the round robin seeding tho.

While there may be a more elegant approach, I like the idea behind the changes in the season/playoff structure. Being in rock-bottom invite I appreciate the fact that we get to play more matches against teams closer to our level instead of playing Froyo twice. We can actually see what works and what doesn't during actual match conditions more often instead of being wrong no matter what we do.

If you're going to do a format with this many different stages I think more time and energy should be put into explaining it to people, so it's crystal clear what the stakes are/are not
Also I think the issue with breaking up the groups this way is that this season happened to have a strong middle and weak top, so teams like lebron and maybe even the covenant would be better suited playing cat posse than froyotech. This format with like froyo witness and g6 would be dope, but you can't always expect that

this might be the area where we get fucked over by the different timezones in NA in a way that the euros don't
in just about every other region they play matches at like 9:30, but that's obviously 6:30 pacific
still, we could def go a LITTLE bit earlier imo with bo3s, it's just hard to have such a sea change so quickly

Every week, we udpate the graphic on the league table for stage 2 to show where each team is in stage 2 as things progress.

You guys did a good job I think ppl just look for something to hate on tbh. the graphic does look confusing but if people took a second to carefully tread over it instead of instinctively complaining as a kneejerk reaction it would drown out the vocal minority.
I remember the first reaction I had looking at the graphic was, "wtf is this," (particulary the seeding bracket portion w/ the 3rd-6th seeds from the 2 brackets) but looking over it you can see the benefit of how it punishes stagnation from people who have a great stage 1 and serves to benefit those with gradual improvements (best example from this season is Cat Posse)
not directed at mustard, it's really pertaining to from what I've noticed looking at the chat while producing/watching the invite stage 2 streams so far.

u guys made a confusing enough format that it requires people to go out of their way to watch a 4 minute long video to even have a chance of understand what’s going on. personally i think it seems like a good format even tho I don’t quite understand it but I really don’t think it’s smart or fair to put the blame on the consumer if they don’t understand the product
honestly tho as long as the actual players in the div enjoy the experience then I would not worry for one moment what main players or retirees think about it
