koth_nucleus is the best pub map and its not even that close
bananabay is also very fun i like divebombing the enemy spawn from the train

nucleus is up there for pub fun for sure but PLR_Pipeline is the best pub map IMO

I used to enjoy yukon in comp, I'm pretty sure it'd be a disaster now but hey it was fun then

I was also the sicko who enjoyed gravelpit

i like 5cp maps nobody really gives a shit about anymore like fastlane, yukon, coldfront, etc
you wouldn't really play them in a competitive setting anymore but i still like them :)

pl_swiftwater is a work of art

I played dmixes on Yukon back in the day and had a blast, even though it was definitely not as good a map as the regular season maps.

I can't believe how they massacred my boy and took out the 2nd part of the map, Valve had a great map going and completely shit on it.

Pipeline is good but my vote is for plr_nightfall, I played an unreal amount of it back in like 2011/2012.

SD_Doomsday. It was flawed but I really enjoyed it. Nothing quite as tense as trying to cap the intel, and having rockets and pipes fly past you as ascend the elevator. I do wish people had made other sd maps, but I guess that void is filled by pd a little.

Cactus Canyon was was mediocre with some of its balance, but it was one of the most fun payload maps ive ever played

Completely agree on Cactus Canyon, it was one of those maps where the fun of playing it completely overshadowed any of its balance issues. It's a real bummer it was never finished :(

dustbowl owns in pubs and so does 2fort most of the time. the best ever official pub map by far is rd_asteroid

i really liked propoganda, still think it could be played in the current pool but on the version where the chokes were more open

for pubs I really like koth_highpass, I liked it even before they added it to the 4's map pool.

tc_hydro plays like ass but some of the setpieces look amazing.

back in early 2016 Valve re-added Hydro to the Misc. Map section of Quickplay. After a few weeks of people having to learn/re-learn the flow it was actually possible to get a good game of Hydro going which was fucking sick. 6 months later they added the casual queue system and pubs were ruined. Great job guys!

This so much, imo it's one of the best renditions of the tf2 spytech aesthetic - every once in a while I'll load it up locally just to wander around and explore it for an hour.
