saxophoneon the real tho, it makes playing against (and i assume as) demo much more boring when there is no counterplay or punish meaning the lnl user can safely spam 100 dmg footballs from almost anywhere in a fight

this is especially an issue on larger maps where the demo becomes encouraged to just throw out 100 dmg proj from sniper range

ETF2L has both MG and LNL banned and I think everyone has been satisfied since said bans, I see no reason why market gardener isn't banned in RGL but understand why loch n load might be a bit controversial and why people might be split on it. My suggestion to you guys, and something etf2l has been better at recently was admin communication, there was a meeting with the top teams' leaders and admins and an open discussion was held about weapon bans / plugins, and then the community (outside of prem as well) was polled on the points of discussion. What would also be cool, although hard to do, would be syncing RGL and ETF2L configs more, this game is small AF and I feel like deviating from each other more and more decreases the already very very small chances of an international LAN or tournament.

Duel_Clipa bit of a derailment of the thread but why do people see an issue with the mg?

it breaks the ammo management decision making that forms the total foundation of skill at the class, and it adds a powerful play that is almost completely impossible for the opponent to interact with

the loch having pipes that are too fast and hard to see (not enough talk about how its lack of pipe tumble makes visibility awful) for most classes to realistically dodge at any reasonable distance also makes it mostly uninteractable despite doing 100 damage

both weapons also instantly make medic tangibly less fun which should be a pretty big concern in weapon balance. xbow is overpowered and probably breaks the game a bit but it makes medic 2x as fun so its worth it for the state of the game no matter what

dbkat least the market gardener is fun to use, the loch n load is literally less fun to play with than regular pipes, people only enjoy it because they can hit crazy pipes without having to get their fatass up from the la-z-boy and aim

i agree, i main demo bc i like the iron bomber and the loch n load is just a mickey mouse version of it, u pretty much dont even have to aim with it like u have dogshit players suddenly being beasts on demo bc they can just shoot across the map and get a lucky med drop, shit is soooo lame.

if ur on the fence about if ball should be banned ask yourself why the cow mangler was banned in the first place... charge shots having potential to insta win any fight. a crit ball can do the exact same thing ALL WHILE not using any primary scattergun ammo, recharging faster, doesnt stall ur movement, and instantly shoots.

to be honest, skeez just needed to press any other movement key than s and also not route his movement up a surfable ramp. highfive as well was probably looking at chat or his players in house, which is why is reaction to this was as slow as it was. if he was more prepared for a fast counter sack, he probably could've positioned himself in from of skeez and denied me.

as much as i love using mg, the first quarter of the take is actually a pretty good one. although everything after is just wrong. its VERY possible for the opponent to interact and deny a soldier of a crit mg with good positioning, movement, and simply just anticipating a soldier with mg.

I think if we are to ban the market gardener we should give the soldiers another buff to even things out. Perhaps we use the no extra self damage thing when u shoot a guy next to you when you have gunboats on.

IIRC they got rid of it recently? could be wrong, ive heard it makes soldier as a class basically be turned into a melee weapon cause you barely take any self damage from those rockets.

Feel like a crit ball changing a fight is similar to a med hitting a crazy arrow or demo hitting a crazy pipe it doesn’t instantly kill someone but can turn the fight in your favor. Something being a direct upgrade or having clutch potential doesn’t necessarily mean it makes the game less fun, arrows are a perfect example of that. If people feel like flank scouts are having too much impact with it and it’s significantly changing the meta / making the game unfun then banning makes sense, until then it seems premature (whereas the mg and lnl arguably do satisfy these conditions)

IIRC they got rid of it recently? could be wrong, ive heard it makes soldier as a class basically be turned into a melee weapon cause you barely take any self damage from those rockets.[/quote]

scratchhI think if we are to ban the market gardener we should give the soldiers another buff to even things out. Perhaps we use the no extra self damage thing when u shoot a guy next to you when you have gunboats on.

removed now, back to massive self dmg + no mg, although i thought it'd be bad at first it's good after playing with it. no need to alter the game that much with plugins simply ban the op shit and play
