i haven't felt alive watching basketball since April 28th, 2012 but it's good to see the Bulls finally moving off the Lavine/Demar/Vooch core. excited for Matas/Williams/White to grow together

Canada, Germany, France, the US, Australia, and Brazil have secured a Quarter-Final spot.
The last 2 group games will be played tomorrow; US vs Puerto Rico at 11:15am EST, and Serbia vs South Sudan at 3pm.
The only teams eliminated as of this edit are Japan and Spain, but Puerto Rico looks pretty cooked too.
You can read about the possible scenarios here. Personally, South Sudan upsetting Serbia would be really funny, but it's very likely their run is over. They need to win, or lose by less than a single possession (1 or 2 points) to advance.

brodyrooting for greece this year

From the post I linked above, Greece not only needs to avoid a loss entirely, they need to win by more than 2 points to to eliminate Spain, assuming Canada handles Spain. If Spain wins, Greece needs to beat out at least 1 other team that finishes 3rd in groups by point differential. I'm sure Giannis is tired at this point, and Australia is a tough team with much more NBA talent. Sorry Brody :(
After speaking too soon, Greece beat Australia earlier today 77-71. Greece finished 1 point back of Brazil in point differential, so they need Serbia to beat South Sudan by 3 or more to advance.

Insane choke by the Australians, losing a 24-point lead. Some of Canada's top players also went ghost.

France beats Germany in a close one. US were down 17 and made an insane comeback in the 4th to take it in the final minutes. Two intense matchups for both bronze and gold on Saturday

Steph Curry heroics late sealed the win. KD becomes the most decorated USA Basketball athlete with the most points and Gold Medals (4). LeBron wins tournament MVP; all 3 with a fantastic sunset run to end their Olympic escapades.
