Blacks for gaming. God forbid you type documents with these heavy switches. My parents think I'm an angry person. It rocks.

I've only used red. I like them just fine, but I had to unbind my 'z' 'x' and 'c' keys because i'd keep accidentally pushing them while i strafed around.

truktrukI've used blues and reds. Reds are way better for gaming and slightly worse for typing.

I feel the opposite about reds

reillyI heard blues suck really bad for gaming, but are amazing for typing.

they're only bad for rhythm gaming because of the switch timing so unless you're part of the hilariously small rhythm game community odds are you won't have a legitimate complaint. either that or you have sissy fingers.

assuming you don't care about the obnoxious noise anyway

People should probably post which switches they actually have used too.

Blacks are amazing for video games but I find myself typing slower and my fingers get tired faster.

I'm loving my blacks. I rarely bottom out when wasding or using the space bar when gaming so it's near silent too.

Nice and loud for typing though.

Definitely buckling spring. After buying a unicomp I had a chance to use a friend's Das with blues and they felt really plasticy and cheap compared buckling springs. Just preference, I guess.

Have browns.

Wish I got reds.

The "tactile" bump in the browns was a nice feature when I first got my mechanical keyboard, but now I have learnt where the activation point is without needing any feedback it is kinda pointless. So I wish I got reds as, for me, the less pressure to activate the keys the better as it reduces hand fatigue during long gaming or typing sessions and it also feels like

I like rotary switches, though knife switches are pretty close too. Toggle switches are fun to watch too if there's a high capacitance capacitor in the circuit.

Brown-eyed Peas.

Really am liking the middle ground that brown switches provides although I am going to borrow a clear switch keyboard and test that out. =o

Do you have a happy hacking keyboard? They seem really cool, but paying over 200 dollars for a keyboard seems incredibly wasteful even if you have the income to justify it.

I use reds which work decently for gaming, but as others stated it's easier to mistype stuff with them. They are better than rubber membrane dome keyboards for sure (my old G15 v2 I am typing on at work is annoying me with its goofy tactile feedback).

Blue.

I've used that keyboard and now a Noppoo Choc Mini with reds, and the reds don't bother me at all now (the Blackwidow did from the very start, besides the fact that it's not a tenkeyless).

I think for someone like me, who doesn't mind a bit of resistance but really DOESN'T want noise almost at all, ideal is reds or possibly blacks. I want to try Topres and Bucklings but I haven't had a chance. Apparently Bucklings are loud? No idea.
