I've also worked out a format for the gamemode pages. Go to the KOTH page to see it.
RJ- I like the way the badlands page looks in terms of format, but the calls section could be made much more direct using what I did in the viaduct page, take a look at it and tell me what you think, it should be pretty easy to combine the two.
I started editing Medic (Highlander) since nothing was on it. Feel free to edit and add stuff.

Someone else must've copy-pasted the Badlands page from the wiki. Too bad I can't cite it myself. (it isn't that big of an issue, come to think of it)
Anyway, I do like your idea with the Viaduct page, though it might be hard to read some of the numbers in the pictures -- I like the idea of a legend type of thing, but maybe a mix of your idea and the ones already posted would work?
I believe that having specific sections for each callout (like the Badlands page), and having a numbered or legend-filled (thats a word now) picture directory could work. I don't think having one or the other could work fully, in my opinion.

On a separate note, is anyone against my previous suggestion of adding POVs, Commentaries, Guides, etc. into each class and/or map page?
ie adding PYYYOUR's medic commentaries for the medic page, Ruwin's Demo Reviews from his recent streams, etc.
Maybe even some amazing games played and casted from some LANs -- I'm thinking something along the lines of the older Mix^ vs. bp games, one of the being on badlands, iirc.

Please remember to keep class summary pages in third person. Second person is fine for the more in-depth articles but it reads horribly in class summary.
I've been going through all the pages I can find doing grammar corrections.

The reason the numbers are hard to read is because they were in a kinda small font size and then I resized the image in paint, which completely destroyed the quality of the text. They can easily be redone.
A compromise would definitely be best, given at how large the page would get for maps like steel or gpit if the system on viaduct is used entirely.

As I said on ETF2L, I think its a great idea. Cross posting some pages on the official wiki wouldn't be a terrible idea though.

Speaking personally, not at all, as I said that would help everyone, even me, if I was looking for a specific class guide let's say for Highlander Medic, I go to the specific page, and there's a list of povs of that class being played at a high level, list of demo reviews of that role being played, etc etc... It just needs to be well cataloged and have a nice template on the page.

I agree, this sounds like an excellent way to keep the writing itself brief and still comprehensively cover all important aspects of each class.

Something I've noticed is a large amount of stubs covering stuff that can be mentioned in the glossary. Please refrain from making short articles with just a definition. Define them in the glossary if they aren't already there.
updated the wiki with a new text editor, similar to the one used on wikipedia
should be much more straightforward to edit

Started adding people to the moderation team. Should get things going on smoother, just worked on the steam group for now, will add the moderation group and user rights to the wiki tomorrow only (it's already quite late).
I added the most active people on the wiki but I couldn't find the steam ids of many active users because they have different names on the wiki and this forum. So if you want to apply for a moderation position just be active on the wiki and add me on steam, or add your steam ID to your User Talk page on the wiki and just be active and wait for me to invite you.
If you want to support the site you can join and invite all your friends

Hook me up for the spanish translations. I might get a group of people to work on it too.

I would advise strongly against any type of translation at this point, we are still in time where content on the site is changing every day, and I feel it will be like that for the next few weeks, after it stabilizes we should worry on getting translations, not right now, or else those translations would be outdated in 1 day.
Thanks for the offer tho, and we will need it eventually, just not now.
over and out to bed, tomorrow will deal with the user groups on wiki and try to create some templates

I've been lurking for a while, might as well introduce myself.
I'm the shadowtroop guy who's been working on the main page. I added the league map table and the class list table.
I'm going to start working on weapons (including usage, synergy with other weapons, and viability) and simplified map diagrams (bird's eye views of say, badlands with basic colors and sections names).
For any class pages, I suggest starting work on the Spy page, because of an abundance of spy mains and it's higher complexity. Only engineer would be a harder page to make. After the spy page is done, then we can use it as the base to make the other class pages.

I've edited and added to Soldier and Sniper and edited a few inaccuracies in other pages. Make sure to check your information before posting it on the wiki.
Someone should really add Seanbud's map analysis videos for the maps he did last season. those helped alot of people.
Why is it so addicting to edit this wiki?
Halp pls
sulnWe should make our own Wiki Caps.
Heh, I wish, but if this does take off the creator (and maybe the mods) might get community weapons or something.

didn't have as much time as I wanted to update the wiki today, will make sure tomorrow I get something done.
Good work on the wiki guys, I have been checking the update logs periodically and there's great work being done! Will make sure to add some more people to the moderation team tomorrow.
Good night!
Edit: Would like to say just one thing, keep in mind this is a wiki related to the competitive scene, so there's no need (at least in my opinion) or no use to copy weapon descriptions from the official wiki directly, instead, explain how those weapons apply in competitive play and in which cases they could be helpful.
Tell me if I'm in the wrong here, but I think it should focus on competitive users rather than just explaining the weapon stats like the official wiki, or else it's of little use to our visitors as they are already familiar with the weapon probably just not how they can be used in competitive play.

ATTENTION ANYONE WHO MIGHT READ THIS:
my first goal with this wiki is to have a place to catalogue the history of tf2. i've only been around this game for about a year now, and most of what i know has been picked up in small pieces from tf.tv threads and mumble conversations on stream. there's no good way to find out about the players, their former teams, et cetera, and id like to change that.
as i said, though, i don't know most of this stuff. this is where you come in. anyone with an extensive knowledge of either highlander or 6v6 history, please either feel free to edit and create pages with what you know, or add me so i can ask you questions and add them myself.
thanks!

I originally thought this was a silly idea, but turns out it just might thrive and become special. Looks like a fantastic resource for newcomers outright. Terrific job kaneco. :]
I think there should be a gentlemen's agreement not to write about yourself if player profiles start becoming something. At least limit it to your own history, and not write stupid shit about yourself like "one of the premier scouts". Nothing biased like that because that's unprofessional as hell. And actually that could be expanded to every player profile regardless of the person writing it. It looks unprofessional to go say on b4nny's profile and see "best player in tf2" compared to "Considered one of the top players in tf2 due to countless achievements in high levels of play, as well as pristine ability with nearly every class". The second is a lot more professional and well put across into why the player actually has a profile on the comp wiki.
How they set up player profiles over on Liquidpedia is pretty nifty. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/

I created a page on movement that has speeds of each class, along with a blurb on double jumps, rocket jumps, sticky jumps, and explosive surfing. I'm sure there's lots more to be added on there. http://comp.tf/wiki/Movement
