I can't decide. Not too rng based and ~1 h long. Any ideas?
Super Mario World
Best 2D Mario and is a popular speedrun game.

Portal 1 or 2 are two of the best and funniest games to run ;) If you do not want to run Portal run Zelda OoT or SM64. (I played OoT and SM64 and both are not as good as portal 1 :3)
Super meat boy has almost no RNG, and any% runs are really fast. WR is 20 minutes for it? haven't checked in awhile. Mark of the ninja doesn't have a lot of RNG (if any? i'm not sure) and is a really good game in general.
you should do something from this

Mirror's Edge
It's very hard, but also has only about 1 instance of RNG in the run from what I remember.

Just because I really wanna see it.

Mirror's Edge
SM64 70 star
Super Metroid (lots of categories, very hard)
Cave Story
Crash Bandicoot 2 or 3
Mischief Makers
These are all around an hour and don't have too much RNG to them. I would really recommend playing something you won't be frustrated with resetting a lot, because it will happen. It's extremely hard to get good enough to be in contention for WR with some games, and it will probably take months to get there. Good luck!

I highly recommend Half-Life 1. Add me and I can point you in the right direction on how to get started.

I don't know too much about it, but Dishonored speedruns looked pretty fun.

I can't get the save glitch working in the chamber where you get the portal gun. It's at 3:05.

Got it pretty consistently before steampipe. Although I saw Lange use a save glitch in a different spot in his run so maybe I'm just bad.

the save glitched is fixed, I think Lange used a quicksave at a point in case he fails the shortcut or something

New Super Luigi U. I would love to see some impressively quick speedruns.
Well in Portal it is very helpful to use the "no steampipe" version :3. You can definatly do it with the current version, but it is MUCH harder to get edgeglitches.
Oh and just if you do not know it yet, Portal OoB is kinda shit so you should try running No OoB or "In Bounds" (Lange streams it sometimes) :D

well rng stands for random number generator AKA randomness being built into the game.
Rogue Legacy is literally just a big RNG and has almost no consistent elements to it.

Oh thanks for clearing that up. randomness definitely ruins speedruns though some games it's fun to test your luck out in a speedrun.
Dark Souls is a pretty interesting speed run. You can probably do it in an hourish if you skip the unnecessary bosses. Not sure what the current records are.
any NSMB that isn't the original one for the DS
DS one is RNG as fuck, you have to rely on the floating blocks that switch between levels at random to hit 1-2 when you get to 1-1, and THEN you need that block in particular to give you the shell because it's required for the first level skip
alternatively: pick an NES game, so many of them have little to no RNG and can be completed in less than 20 minutes
