Why does the quickfix uber give the medic a buff again?

i may be wrong here but im pretty sure the same thing happens if you headshot an uber 3 times

Also why run sniper when you could run heavy. Heavy out-damages qf uber heal rate at a range that's a bit farther than the length of a gran crate, requires no charging for a guaranteed kill, is easier to play, and is actually useful for things other than silly picks. Also it has 450 health.

I don't think it should be banned for the rest of the season without evaluation. There is still a few weeks before Open and IM playoffs with LAN being a longer while away. Now would be the best time to decide whether or not it should be whitelisted for the remainder of Season 14.

I think quickfix is good and can stopped with kritz, but the problem is the uber build..
on gran you can literally have full uber within 30seconds of the mid fight.. so i would say its op but it has its downs with kritz
it also has problems with rocketjumping sooooo it's not as good as people think it is

Honestly I think you shouldn't need to damage yourself to charge the other mediguns faster either.

If the Kritzkrieg was released in 2013 instead of in 2008, it would be banned in a heartbeat, because it wouldn't be what everyone would have been used to playing against.
People afraid of change would call it OP and scream for it to be banned in threads much like this one, and most people would follow suit because most teams wouldn't be able to come up with a solid way to counter it before the next season.
They would talk about how maybe it would be better off if it charged at the same rate as an uber, since you can, according to their theorycrafting, surprise and uber-running team and make the medic drop easily, or maybe about how crits that did 2x damage would make more sense. People would talk about how it would slow the game down, since teams would be afraid to go into mid quickly or risk getting kritzed on. And a paragon of weapon balance would be shelved and condemned to be used in pubs only forever.
That might be unthinkable now since everyone knows how the Kritz works and how to counter it (and prove the above theorycrafting completely wrong), but that's because we've been playing with it since the dawn of the metagame; most of us found out about it while we were still new to the game and playing pubs. The Quick Fix, on the other hand, is completely new, and people are scared by it. Wait 2 seasons before closing the book on this interesting new strategy, and people will learn how to adapt to it, probably for the better.

pine_beetleHonestly I think you shouldn't need to damage yourself to charge the other mediguns faster either.
I'd Disagree for this. It makes for a neat bit of balancing. You can build as a pocket or demo, but you lose spam potential, waste ammo, and you'll be weaker if the enemy comes barreling through a choke, since no buff and no ammo. You can pull out a scout build, but it requires your flank to be weaker. It makes it so your team has to weaken itself to be stronger, and makes for more interesting play on the pocket, medic, and builers part since it requires cohesion and communication
Plus standing around spamming choke is just as boring but even less skill indexed.

The only reason teams build in the first place is because of stalemates and you know they're not going to push you... It really makes no difference at all who builds the uber, scouts tend to do it now to conserve the soldiers rockets. If you remove the need to build the whole team can play more aggressive just off of higher overall health.

EXC0Gun needs a little stat tweaking in the long run.
This is true, I feel like a slightly slower build rate and/or a small nerf on overheals is necessary to make it balanced for 6s, in HL it might already be balanced but we are talking about 6s here.
The sad thing is, Valve won't probably change the stats because of 6s.

No medi gun has 3-4 huge benefits. Kritz has kritz, uber has uber. Quick fix has movement speed, jumping, crit heals, constant building and a good uber. Take away one or two of them and itll be good.

Kritz has Kritz and a faster building rate. Uber has Uber, which in a straight uber fight, is better then both other ubers. Quick fix has the worst uber, but it charges the fastest (without building), and has other benefits (Heal rate, movement stuff), but also at the cost of overheal.

I personally enjoy mixing up the three based on whatever situation I'm in. I see each one as a tool that has its specific uses.
I used the quickfix almost exclusively in a scrim last night, and the first thing I noticed is that positioning and staging pushes is a WHOLE lot different than anything I've ever done before. If you don't know what your pocket is thinking at all times then it's going to get ugly... ...fast. I think that teams with a cohesive combo could be cooking with gas if they insert this medigun into their game plan.

Why so much hate in this thread holy. Just drop it. If people like the quick fix great they do,If they don't well sure whatever. It is not like anyone's opinion matters.

I love the quickfix..however I think you shouldn't be able to cap with it popped.
Thoughts?

If you played medic without leaving after the first round, you'd realize why this was such a divisive issue.

bmanQuick fix makes competitive 100% more fun. Run kritz if you want to win so badly, let us enjoy our new play style.
harbleuif its overpowered why are we the only invite team using it? if its so much better why doesn't every team use it?
TLRThe new quick fix is the main reason I want to play next season. It has the potential to completely fix the terrible chokepoint standoffs.
pine_beetleI think it makes for a much more aggressive and action packed game.
anjirocoolThe quick fix adds a new degree of team play we haven't seen before.
ninjanickthe gun should not be banned, it's nowhere near overpowered and gives a reason for people to enjoy medic. so what if you think it's gay because it's different than what you're used to. It's been tried out by literally every team in invite like harbleu said and mixup is the only team that felt it was viable enough to actually use. Cant wait to see how it plays out at lan
Mangachudefy doesn't want medics to have fun
SneakyPolarBearShould allow it for a season and see what happens imo.
mquickfix is fun and different and we havent figured out how to auto-win with it yet so im not sure what the point of calling it blatantly op is
hookyKritz can easily dominate Quickfix.
thrasherIt's really not that OP. It's pretty situational IMO. It'll never replace regular uber or even kritz, nor will it break the game.
BigToeThis is exactly what Robin Walker was talking about when he spoke of 6s needing a shake-up. (ref: Extine + Sal's convo at Valve) How have suddenly decided that 6s TF2 has already reached the pinnacle of evolution and needs no more tweaks? Valve forbid, they may release a map that changes the way 5 CP or Koth is played. So what? We adapt, adopt and learn. That's the only way this game will remain playable and sustainable.
AllealI fully expect to see the QF and Kritzkrieg become the mediguns of choice for competitive medics. Not because the Quick Fix is more powerful, but because it's more FUN. It is way more exciting to be constantly aggressive and flying all over the map than it is to stalemate out 9 times a game and wait for uber to build.
r4ptureHow about we wait and see how LAN plays out before we go into the usual cycle of calling everything new bad
mghughlaurieonly thing OP is the fact that you can cap points while the charge is being used. if they fixed that i think it's perfectly fine.
alfunksoquickfix is a fucking awesome weapon, I've had so much fun pugscrimming with it, there is almost no stalemates at all.
ScubaSquidThere is nothing OP about the quickfix, it forces you to rush your ubers and have your pocket and medic fly deep into enemy territory, which can easily be countered if you expect it. Not to mention your team doesn't have full buffs going into every fight. Kritz is a strong counter to QF and any coordinated team would easily be able to use it effectively against the QF. UBER STILL REMAINS NUMBER ONE
TwilitlordPersonally, that's the most exciting thing about the changes to me: the meta is so dynamic that there's no perfect, this beats that every time medigun.
seanbudQuick fix adds a TON of strategy to medic and also increases the skill cap of the players because of the coordination/timing to execute rollouts/jumps. In the two weeks of play we got to use it I already saw a bunch of rock/paper/scissors type stuff happening with the 3 mediguns.
It adds a lot to the game and makes playing medic more fun which is a huge plus. There is zero reason it should be banned.
scrimshawrofl hrg is so mad their perfect world isn't as controllable now
Seagull Every other team in invite (with the exception of AG) places a much greater emphasis on their demoman, so we're just taking our playstyle even further by giving our combo more power. It's a different way to play, but it's not necessarily better.
Edit: fuck it I'm going all the way there
Quick fix is the only medi gun for us. Win or lose, it makes 6s that much more fun and fast paced
defythis unlock is extremely overpowered, medic is not meant to have this much mobility in 6s at all, jumping out whenever you please with a soldier/demo, moving as fast as a scout when healing it, getting charge as fast as kritz without having to build, making crit buffs irrelevant with how fast it heals every class, forced to going kritz as a 'somewhat' useful counter. its just so gimmicky, it's a HUGE upgrade from kritz/uber, goes beyond what the medic should be able to do. one unlock shouldn't change the flow of the game to such a huge degree
honestly unless this is nerfed i don't see the point in keeping it in league play at all. and i'm just curious as to why it wasn't banned until the season was over just like every other season in ESEA when new unlocks were introduced or current ones were altered in a huge way
He knew
