I pointed it out once or twice that Crespi wasn't moving at all and that I was worried for him - I didn't realize he was totally fucked upon the whole game though :(
Give the guy a fucking break maybe you couldn't see it but parts of the game he was frozen and the other parts he couldn't change weapons and was only shooting arrows. Not to mention his ping spiking the whole game.

My ping was spiking to 800 and beyond on badlands. I made sure that no one in my house was using the Internet, but it was still spiking. We were about to get a ringer but then I had the idea of plugging straight into my modem. I did that, rejoined and it was fine for most of the duration of badlands.
On gravelpit, I started getting the auto disconnect in 20 seconds warning, and my choke would explode on my net graph. For the first round this was happening every 30-45 seconds. During the second and third round it started happening every 10-15 seconds. It just got worse and worse near the end. Every time it happened, I would also temporarily disconnect from Mumble. Many times when it would cease I would be in respawn.
We didn't pause because this is the second night in a row where we've had to deal with this shit. It was obvious it wasn't going to stop. We simply just wanted it all to be over with. We didn't want to lose, but we knew there wasn't much we could do. We're all happy that we can now take a breather and say gg, good season.
If anyone knows any possible way to get records from my isp, or my own computer, or verify that it was indeed a ddos, I'd be interested in finding that out. I personally think I was being attacked because this has never happened in any match, ever. Quite a pill to swallow to say it was just coincidence.

Everytime I think I want to call someone out on how they played during something like this, I have to stop and check myself, if I could play at that level, if I understand the stress or problems that person might also be having, and if so I ask myself if I could prove it when asked.
This keeps me from talking shit out of my ass more often than I would maybe want in retrospect, and I highly recommend this process to all of the people giving crespi shit right now.
I have yet to see a player post shit about crespi that can consider themselves above his level and back it up.

i had my butthole clenched that entire game, i cant imagine playing medic with those circumstances i feel for you crespi and i'm sorry the season had to end this way
crespi-snip-
AFAIK, from when Slin was getting DDoS'ed quite frequently. You can't tell after the fact, you have to have the stuff in place ahead of time to mitigate it.

If you want to give anyone shit give it to the fuck who gets pleasure out of DDOSing someone both in the server and directly over and over again, or to ESEA who was completely inept at dealing with the DDOS problem.
Not to mention we had to pay an extra month of premium to even PLAY this match because of all the reschedules, postponing playoffs start a week, and DDOS problems.
Do not give anyone on our team shit for how we played, we don't claim to be good at tf2 at all in the first place and you imagine trying to stay focused playing a match while your med is being ddos'd after weeks and now hours and hours of delays to bs. There was literally no way we could stay focused but we tried our damnest regardless.

It wasn't as bad as it could have been. To be honest, if it weren't for all of this crap happening before, and up until the last match, we would have been a lot more frustrated and pissed off. We were basically worn down past our last nerve at this point though. But my team never once got angry with me about my connection. We all stayed calm and just pressed on as best we could. Shoutout to my teammates for being awesome and understanding. love you guys.

what kind of router do you have? most newer routers automatically record logs, and will list a DDOS attack if they think it is one. but i've been subject to DDOS attacks before, and I've had about the same exact symptoms. it's a very unfortunate occurance and i'm sorry you had to have it happen when the pressure was most on you all season.
edit: ninja crespi post, your teammates sound awesome.

Considering how many problems you had you guys still almost beat us on gpit. We literally won by 1 hp. Well played finals and season, grats

call your isp and tell them about it. they'll usually look into it.

I got DDoSed a few months ago, when I was hosting New Map Pugs (this was around the time of the last DDoS burst). I never actually confirmed that it was a DDoS, but b4nny was playing in the pugs and also lost connection just before I did. That would be pretty hard to be a coincidence. And I can confirm that it is not fun.
Also, NFO's NY servers were apparently getting DDoSed today, and the NMW mumble is there, so we could not use it at all. Maybe someone really hates TF2?

Who would just hate on a sport and not just play another sport.

It happens in almost every popular game. People use to do it in Halo 3 at the higher ranks a lot.
It's mainly kids that just want to feel powerful, that's all. What better way to do that than hit a streamed match, though it seems this person also has a personal grudge against Crespi (or perhaps wanted the other team to win).
