learn to not rely on teachers/professors because alot of them are bad teachers who are just working to get paid. just make sure you pretty much read the entire textbook or atleast the parts that the course covers and you should be good if you do the examples as well.

These are all terrible ideas.

People who say to confront him, may not know the level of badassery to step to a teacher one-on-one and tell them that they are doing their job wrong. I have done it before, in 9th grade, when my algebra 2 teacher had never taught us logarithms and also a number of various basic skills.

Just take a deep breath, walk into the classroom and think that you're Chris Hansen, and you'll be alright. Also, rehearse what you have to say. Don't be a stammering moron.

I know you're only a junior, but for the kind of physics involving acceleration distance and velocity, you could teach yourself rudimentary calculus to derive those equations. I mean, deriving velocity from acceleration and acceleration from distance is relatively easy depending on the equation. I mean, I took physics after calc 1 so it wasn't too bad.

Regarding the teacher, if you don't have shit advisors go to them, otherwise google it. I think high school physics should'n't be more difficult than a couple google searches. Good Luck!

really? cause once your get to college/university good luck with having someone walk you through the course. the proffs are there making money and continuing their research in their fields, most of them could give less of af about the students, and if you go to a school with a pretty decently big size campus like mine, youll be taking a lecture with 200+ other people they arent going to help everyone individually. learning to be independent in your studies and being able to focus and not only read but understand the text is vital to getting a good grade. I'm not saying don't ask from help from other classmates/your teacher or proff/or even tutors, im just saying dont rely on anyone else to help you achieve the grade you need, its all on on you son

Going from acceleration to velocity is integration cause you're finding the original from the derivative. I don't take physics and I know this.

I have two of those teachers that just give you a assignment and wont fucking help you. The thing i did and some of my classmates was to contact those two teacher's supervisor and that she needed to talk with them about this.

Now its fine and they finally started to TEACH us.

Idk what uni you go to scuba but all my profs at UofT are super nice and helpful. If you don't understand something during the lecture, you can put your hand up and the prof will pause his lecture for you and take your question. They stick around after class until all questions are answered and they have office hours every week for extra help. TAs have also been super nice to us and behave similarly to the profs. They also have office hours where you can get extra help.
There are some things that you just can't learn by yourself and 90% of the time profs/teachers are willing to help. You just have to have the balls to ask them.

I still remember to this day a German professor that I had for astronomy 101. He was a NASA employee until he was laid of that same year, so he decided to teach. That would normally be great, but he had no idea how to teach outside of Masters. No shit, the class average, out of 200 people, was 17%. There was only one person that passed the class with a 67%. The entire rest of the class failed. The worst part about all of it was that after he got fired, all the same people took the class again. We averaged around 82%.

In college, like larger universities they usually talk about the basic important stuff because the professors have alot of research/other activities outside of a 50/hr-and-half min class. But its your responsibility to teach yourself the rest. I am serious about this... I know it sounds strange but most classes will not spoon-feed you information. Even in high school, you should be getting into the habbit to actually look at your books and have it supplement your normal class. They can only show you so much. If there is something you dont understand, talk to classmates or the teacher before/after class (unless you get a chance to ask in class).

well at YorkU its different since lectures can go over 1000 people and i agree you can't learn alone all the time im just saying if you have a shitty proff you gotta be independent and take it upon yourself to learn whether it be studying alone/with a friend or a TA. And some of the proffs here will literally listen to your question turn around and completely ignore it, seen it happen on multiple occasions lol

If you're too scared to confront your teacher, you could always keep asking him questions. Soon he'll be annoyed/notice that he's doing something wrong if people constantly ask him for help.
