Literally nothing of value to him, but opposite for you. That sucks
Could've been worse, could've been your tf2 backpack
so you lost literally 40$ including your backpack...
too bad your dad insurance will be much worst next year, that's the real pain

Did you not hear your window shatter or something? I'd expect that to be pretty noticeable and seeing glass fly everywhere
Why would you leave a bag in a expensive (it seems like) car anyway, even if it's a good neighborhood?
Was there anything of value that could have been sticking out of your backpack? Getting your window smashed in front of a Starbucks in the morning is rough.

Thing is, most cities warn to not leave valuables in your car. I thought this was common sense.

i presume his post was more about lowering the risk of getting your shit stolen. the average thief is probably more likely to steal a bag from a car, rather than a bag that's on someone's back.
besides, if there's no bag in your car, that's one reason less for someone to smash in your window.

i drive a pretty beautiful car and I NEVER leave bags or phones or anything on the seats in plain eye view.
Theres a difference between victim blaming and telling people to be more careful. Comparing us telling him to not leave bags on the seats of expensive cars to telling aurora victims to not go to midnight batman releases might be the dumbest thing I read today.

That's a very bad example, since simply a parking a car wouldn't get your window smashed, however if they see a bag laying in it (especially in a more expensive car) the chances are a lot higher they would.

If you hold your hands against the sides of your head to close out light and then look through the window you can easily see it laying below the seat tho, and hiding something usually means there is something valuable involved
clicked on this expecting it to be dflame or leaky complaining about being scammed for the 6th time
your dad's got an asshole haircut
condolences on the bag
considering the car, the thief prob thought u were packing one of those surface pro things since theyre great 4 school

Just fyi it's not as "common" as you might think. I live in an area where I could leave my car park, running , and unlocked outside for 10+ minutes and not have to worry about someone stealing it or anything inside. BUT I live in a somewhat rural town in Nebraska. The biggest city in Nebraska (Omaha) has relatively few areas where you would have to worry about someone actually breaking into your car.
And as a side note for Discario.
Whoever the thief was probably picked you guys purely because of the value of the car, and going off an educated guess you probably had a laptop / tablet of some kind. Very odd though they chose to do it a starbucks in the morning though, these kinds of thefts are far more common at Malls around Lunch and Dinner
I literally had nothing of value except the actual backpack. No laptop or anything. It was definitely the expensive car. That drew attention. Funny thing is, there was an iPad in the back seat, in plain view, but he didn't go for that, or didn't see it for some reason. They were probably trying to grad something as fast as possible and leave.

victim blaming isnt occurring in this thread, i dont know what thread ur on. also, you're having a hard time reading so let me help u out
wrechedddddimplying you can avoid random crimes.
it doesnt matter what was in the car, a bag in his fathers car at that particular moment of time was an easy target for the particular individual walking by. the person wanted to steal, and unless the thief knew the bag was there, it was a random crime. chances are if his father didnt park there, the individual would walk 20 feet ahead and steal someones gps or whatever else out of another car.

Yeah he probably thought you were packing some money in your bag or something, I could understand why he wouldn't go for the iPad since you can easily just use the GPS inside to track it.

also your definition of random isn't even remotely valid.
it was not a random crime. It was an expensive looking convertible in a public parking lot with a backpack and an ipad in view from a window.
please see yourself out of the intelligent conversation

specifically,
at random, without definite aim, purpose, method, or adherence to a prior arrangement; in a haphazard way:
sorry i didnt live up to ur expectations, u know with ur degree in liberal arts maybe i should have said haphazard, clearly i put a lot of time into my post on a video game forum. also u seem really upset about 'the intelligent conversation' when u hardly qualify.

uhm he had
definite aim - to rob an expensive vehicle
definite purpose - get something valuable
definite method - through the window
prior arrangement - he definitely picked the car, he didnt randomly wind up inside of a used 1990 camry
and it wasnt haphazard LOL
also if you're troll baiting you're doing an awful job. your lack of education is showing

would u think there are many expensive vehicles in a "pretty fucking good neighborhood" in fact i count 7 in just two pics
would u think there are valuables inside said vehicles
if ur gonna argue the word random u have to start asking if anything is truly random. my bad for not using the exact dictionary term for it. ur outbursts of LOL and ROFL clearly show ur a smart man, that or u love the attention in which im giving u.
