I'm a demo main, and have 0 problem with the loose cannon and almost never use it, because it's only really powerful situationally. Pipes are better in almost every situation. In my opinion the loose cannon is only worth it on defense/Uber disadvantage or occasionally on a stalematey game. Also saying that it takes no skill is silly, you have twice as much to think about, aiming and timing as opposed to just one.

It should be banned because:
- Can completely deny an uber by just clicking at a choke from the right distance
- Can one shot a medic around a corner (141 damage + fall damage)
- Sends people flying away
- Double donks are too random for a competitive game (debatable)

I feel like it's also way too good to get scouts/soldiers away from you because it can just send them flying although only dealing 60 damage or so if you don't double donk them.

Theres actually a bug with it where if you direct someone with it and then you direct them with it again and the one on the ground exploded it counts as a double donk

Shitty thread to respond to but on a serious note I don't get why it hasn't been nerfed or at the very least banned in comp. The cannon ball is massive, it's incredibly easy to hit splash so that you are essentially guaranteed damage, and getting random picks at chokes by just spamming at a particular distance is just silly. Uncharged cannons shouldn't donk and either the splash radius/damage or cannon ball radius needs to be nerfed. In theory I like the idea of knockback and carefully timed double donks as it offers an interesting sidegrade to pipes but atm the weapon requires very little precision and rewards mindless spam more than any other weapon in the game.

Like sideshow said, the only nerf it would need to be more balanced would be the decrease in projectile size, although some people say the speed of the projectile should be decreased as well. And people have already said, but the loose cannon is better than pipes only if you can hit all your double donks which is pretty hard imo.
if blaze and clock can't get the community behind banning this weapon no one can rofl
In addition, I think having the pushback work more similarly to other projectiles so it can be strafed and has predictable pushback is also a key point.

really minor balance changes like ammo nerfs really dont effect the actual cause of the imbalance, which is that this can one hit 1/2 of the classes in 6's fairly reliably. what really needs to happen is a 120~ max damage from a double donk, which means that its nearly impossible to one hit a class with the weapon. as far as pushback force goes, i'd like to see a reduction in the single hit knockback so that it's actually possible to push through a choke while being spammed at, but still rewards you for hitting a double in some way.
