I've had my deathadder for almost 4 years now and it never let me down, but I'd never buy any of the other mice they offer. Although if my current deathadder were to ever die I'd probably look around for one that was released between 2012-2013, otherwise I'd get a zowie. My current deathadder came with razers cloud thing which needs an internet connection to use, is kind of complicated (not so much complicated, more that it's just not simple to use), and overall it's a gimmick. This issue is easily fixable because you can download an older deathadder driver where the interface is very simple to use, and you never need an internet connection.

scroll wheel is iffy on the deathadder, both on mouse3 clicks and actual scrolling. it's nice for long fingers, but it could use a rubber coating for slipperiness

IMO the deathadder has better click switches and better coating than the zowie, but these are minor issues when you look at the weight or the performance of the mouse or even the shape. The deathadder weights 105 grams because it has to support the stupid 16.8 MILLION fucking colours and it's way too heavy, for me at least. And on top of that the avago 3310 sensor (basically all zowie mice) is WAY superior to the deathadder's one. One last thing, which is just a personal preference I guess, I reckon that the za series' shape is better than the deathadder's and ec2-a's
ones for palm grip users.
(Some people don't really like the zowie mice's scroll wheel, I personally don't have any issues with it)

I've owned both a Razer and Zowie so far.
I've had the Razer Deathadder 3.5G for about 3 years? The shape was great and the mouse4 and mouse5 was nicely big, but I ended up with the cursed double click problem, and so did 2 of my other friends on Razer Deathadder Chromas. Imagine just trying to highlight this sentence, it'd highlight and then go away instantly like half the time. It was also a horror for me in StarCraft 2 since I just wanted to select a single worker and it'd select all of them and I had already made the move action... I have one other friend and have heard of others that had no problems with it for about 3 years also though. I feel that when you get a deathadder, you have a 50% chance of it having something wrong with it. The sensor was great and the feel was great, but the doubleclick issue is just unacceptable.
I recently got the Zowie FK1 and it's been amazing. No drivers, adjustable DPI on the bottom of the mouse, simple design, hard distinct clicks, and the sensor has been known to be very good. The only problem I found out was it's low Lift off distance but I was using a TF2 mousepad with multiple colors, using a complete black mousepad works amazing with it as I used the Steelseries qck. I also feel the zowie mice are also durable and don't get dirty as easily as Razer's.
I highly recommend Zowie over Razer any day.

Can't vouch for the Roccat but the Mionix Castor has been the best mouse I've ever owned. A title that would have been had by the Logitech g303 if I didn't hate the shape with all my heart and soul.

razer has a ton more legacy drivers here, not sure if you'd be able to downgrade post-synapse mice to older drivers but worth checking
