lol overwatch's sensitivity settings are so utter shit we need to resort to shit like this
fahrenheitI played Winston a bunch and I love LGs but his tesla cannon almost felt like more of the flamethrower in TF2 (shit ass comparison). Your crosshair didn't actually have to be on the person you're trying to hit they practically just had to be on your screen if you were in range enough to hit them.
With how quickly his lshift recharges, it's way too easy to jump in, pop e, spray for 2-3 seconds, leap away and repeat.

joshuawnjust a quick tip to anyone trying to accurately replicate their desired sensitivity on overwatch:
install the QL accel driver and modify the post-scale X and Y sensitivities with the following formula:
postscale_sensitivity = DESIRED_INCHES_PER_360 / OVERWATCH_INCHES_PER_360
example:
you want your sensitivity to match 12 [inches/360].
with 800 dpi, an in-game sensitivity of 6 corresponds to 11.3636 [inches/360]. this results in a percent discrepancy of 5.6003%
therefore, keep your in-game sensitivity set to 6 & set the post-scale X and Y sensitivities on the QL accel driver equal to (12/11.3636 = 1.056) and you'll replicate your desired sensitivity with much more accuracy.
if you want to replicate a faster or slower sensitivity, you should approach it in-game as close as possible before modifying your post-scale sensitivity values so that navigating your desktop doesn't feel so jarring.
if you have a premium subscription, use the following site for accurate correlations between in-game sensitivity and inches/360: http://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/
also, if it's not obvious, you're not imparting acceleration onto your mouse despite the name of the driver; you're only modifying the post-scale sensitivity values.

that website actually breaks a lot of senses, the proper way to calculate sens is using your TF2 sens dividing it by 30 and then multiplying it by 100 and then rounding it to a proper value.
Example:
My tf2 sens is 1.57 in game
1.57/30*100 = 5.233
rounded down to 5

I can't find the post right now but a dev on the OW battle.net forums said that they do plan to add decimal values for sensitivity.
fucking terrible game but im gonna end up playing it anyway
remember to kill yourself if you play any of these heroes:
annoying butt pose bitch
anime bow and arrow guy
anime knife throwing guy
edgy 4chan die die die guy
sjw feminist ice girl
sjw feminist pink dyke girl
king kang
and everyone else

The fucking ice character is worse than pyro, at least with pyro you have a CHANCE to get out alive!
Its basically pyro 2.0 but with ice instead of flames

The open beta has been extended one more day, in case anyone wants to play for longer before deciding to buy or not!

Anyone know why my ping in tf2 is fine at around 40-50 with occasional spikes to about 130 or so but then in overwatch my ping will frequently spike into the 300-600 range?
Is there a way we can reach out to Blizzard about the sensitivity issue in Overwatch?
were running pugs for ow rn, add me on bnet sola#11520 for info
pugs are so much better i promise

Most people I've heard who have left the comp TF2 scene for OW didn't leave because they thought OW was more fun at a comp level. But they left because they felt that OW's comp scene had a better future and OW in general is going to have much better developer support.
Was on Clockwork's stream some time ago and he and lansky were shitting on tf2's lack of developer support and lack of polish(many bad weapons).

I was really excited to finally play and I have had a lot of fun playing with friends but I am still pretty disappointed. Maybe it's just me but I feel like other than aiming there isn't a really high skill cap. There is no strafing, knock back, launching, etc. After playing TF2 for so long it just feels clunky and slow.
The movement isn't necessarily a problem. Despite cooldowns, there are plenty of classes that allow you/your team to advance quicker. My problem is that it's way too easy to hit people without any real sense of aim, excluding certain characters.
Game has too many "unfun" mechanics for an FPS. If they tone down shit like wall hacks and other bullshit it'll be much more enjoyable. Still haven't tried pugging though but watching other people pug seemed like you never really felt impactful except maybe one good ultimate or something.
hey lemme play winston and be a fucking dickhead and follow you around with my 2dmg per second gun and you cant do anything about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
god winston is so fucking dumb

I have a premium sub, for those can't pay hit me up with your TF2 sens, dpi and optionally monitor size and resolution and I'll tell you what it says about your OW settings.

please try atleast pugging at the very least before giving an opinion on an competitive focused game.
After scrimming with Avast, and bowowser5, and the_savior, among other players, it was some of the most fun Ive had playing competitively in forever. Moments are clutch, team talking things out in pregame and strats going accordingly feels extremely rewarding. Having your team make changes on the fly and watching how your team can majorly shift playstyles mid game is so pleasurable to see played out. The dev support is extremely exciting to see and seeing how meta evolves will be interesting. Honestly, cant wait for release, pubs are so bad imo, but where everyone is trying in pugs and scrims makes this game infinetly times better. Its just really exciting for myself and other former tf2 players because they see the potential and its really exciting,. I might try to run some pugs on the 8th around 7est again, so yall can try. Im still heavily debating switching from tf2 however. Something about tf2 feels comforting. However, overwatch has a lot of exciting prospects.

I have to agree with sola, decided today to pug with his group and it was the most fun I had in open beta. Don't have a team to scrim so its all the competitive scene I can get so far but I've enjoyed the pugs I've participated and I would amuse scrimming is tons of fun as well.

Fox Blizzard is well-known for having extremely lax reactions to cheaters in their games, more in regard to botters.
Lax is an understatement. Just a couple months ago they had the largest detection of honorbuddy, a wow bot with tens of thousands of users, and they handed out 3month bans to all the detections. ;_;
Also, the valiantchaos maphack on SC2 went largely undetected for years despite having a userbase in the thousands. They had to sue the creators to shut it down.
Widowmaker's ult is out of this world, at least make it pulse... McCree's flashbang is obnoxious, who went "This would be really cool for a fps."???
This game would be much more interesting with movement mechanics. :\ Not only is strafing not a thing but on junkrat, half the time if you conc mine jump it STOPS you from moving and makes you fall straight down...

a dedicated A/C manager would greatly improve this game
Does anybody has the same problem when randomly sound starts to stutter and lag? Any suggestions?
Also game is everything I wanted to be. Alot of fun. Looking forward to it's official release.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with the game so far.
It's really not comparable with tf2 imo and there are some things that are just annoying/unnecessary like:
-The HUD is way to cluttered, especially health and ammo need to be bigger/more visible
-McCree's flashbang is by far the most annoying thing in the game. Insta stun with no effective way of countering, that can even fuck up your ULT is just shouldn't be in the game
-Playing double Bastion with Reinhardt shielding them and a mercy will almost definitely win you the game if you're playing KoTH (or whatever that gamemode is called here). Countering that setup is possible but requires pretty much everyone on the team to switch heroes and ignore everything else that is going on just in order to break that setup.
-Bastion overall is just not fun to play against imo. His turret mode has no dmg falloff or inaccuracy when spamming and he doesn't even overheat (reloading takes like 2 seconds so its almost irrelevant)
Other than that its a pretty good game imo.
Also I feel like people shouldn't dismiss the game because "there is no aim required". You can definitely be decent without having played other fps before but I also notice that having played a lot of soldier/demoman gives me an advantage as phara/junkrat, so its not like having decent aim is useless in this game.

ppl are gonna switch to overwatch for like a couple of months and then go back to tf2 when they realize how much better it is. overwatch is fun but i dont think it has enough depth to really be a good competitive game.

It has the depth. The game can be really competitive and there are some really good strategies and compositions, its just that its unbalanced right now and difficult to watch as a spectator since there's so much happening. If someone who has mild knowledge of the game watches a competitive game on stream they wont understand 3/4 of what's happening, only those who have played the game with experience will understand, and this is a problem if it wants to be a competitive format.

the game is fun but i have a shitty laptop and i get like 30 fps but thats expected in a beta. idk if i would pay $60 for this game though, but definitely better than i thought it would be.
