no they dont. viewmodel fov isnt something that has to be standardized, and if it had to be it would be somewhere around 90 probably, that would provide better visibility and looks while not having too much model fixing to do (arms would look broken and the spy's third hand would cause issues - soldier second hand as well)

If they don't do some serious optimization they should at least have the basic courtesy of adding the pro maps. I've got a couple friends who refused to play the beta with me since Viaduct smashed them; sub 30fps.

Honestly it's annoying, but I understand the need for it. customization in tf2 is a pretty overwhelming thing to learn about. As painful as it is for us to be told we can't use all of our graphical tweaks anymore, it does give us an advantage that someone wouldn't have if they just learned about the game. So I agree with it. For the time being. I do think valve needs to optimize the game more and make graphics config type options more accessible for new players and then allow them.

Also, viaduct is just a lose/lose for almost everyone, in addition to the map being horrible for fps, there's almost always a huge fps dropping fight. so I genuinely feel bad for anyone with a lower end pc.

There is actually an option implemented for the low violence version of the game that does just this. Add -sillygibs to your launch options and you will get springs, cogs, and other miscellany instead of gibs.

I doubt there will be any major problems, but if there is, some trial and error usually works out in the end.
